  1. My checks have been the same with no decreases at all. I hope they don't decrease by any amounts.
  2. You are right with all of your posts on this subject. I bet I get junk emails at least 2-3 times a month to purchase medications from Canada for a much, much cheaper price. It is true Dr's get big perks for writing prescriptions for medications the drug reps are peddling. Seen it alot of times. BTW I was a lucky one who survived after taking the deadly drug Vioxx.
  3. Another one wins their dues. Good for you!
  4. I am so glad to receive feedback I can give to this veteran. I know he works so would not want to be TDIU as would have to pay it back, but some good info was received here, especially as we all know regarding the waiting months to years to receive determinations. Thanks again great vets!!
  5. Vet is rated @ 80% va math...140 or 150 regular math...Anyway vet has more problems regarding previous ratings, conditions of pain and limited mobility increased and noted since granted. Has IBS, Migrains, and Sleep Apnea,(not prev diag) along with some rated @ 10% and @ 0% that are much worse. He wants to put in a NOD for an increase, however his VSO suggests to sit tight and keep what he has. The VAMC has been treating him and have evaluated him with more diagnoses since he has been receiving treatment for conditions. Constant pain, and joint problems worsening. He works and needs to still work, as he has expenses and family, however all joints have increased pain and ankles and knees much worse. Diag with Fibro and CFS too and conditions are worse than 20% and 10% as awarded. He really feels the need to seek a higher rating, but with VSO reluctancy, he is worried. He is aware of putting in NOD and if decision is not favorable, can appeal it through the system and thereby protecting current rating while awaiting for decisions. (nod...C&P or decision, then accept or appeal, and go BVA, and as long as timely can protect current 80% while in appealing processes.) Would like feedback from those who are familiar with GW syndrome and illinesses, and feels like he is more disabled than 80%. He went in @ 18 and came out @ 22, but did not put in claim until 06-07...was granted the 80% on 10 illinesses/diagnoses/conditions, and a couple more @ 0%. Sometimes he used a cane but always uses leg braces, and they have told him his knees are shot with tears in meniscus bilaterally, yet got 10% for each knee. Chronic respiratory condition as noted in military with over 30 clinic visits and hospitalizations including some with pneumonia, but did not rate him for respiratory problems. Looking for some definitive advice here for this vet. Thank you to all who may be able to offer him help/suggestions on path to follow with his claims. Was told he needed to have 260% in order to request schedular rating.(vso). Opinions??
  6. Did you apply on line or mail or in person? Perhaps one misread what you were applying for. Call or stop by office.
  7. Took a couple of weeks to be awarded and around 5-6 weeks for a check to arrive. Much quicker than any claim or retro. Mine was different as I already had some degrees and did a volunteer job and was paid to do that for some months, the best thing was my dental was completely covered. Even after experience and $$ stopped the dental was completed and took almost 2 years.
  8. Woody, I was in a position somewhat similar but did not have a spouse who was ill...anyway after battling for over 7+ years I had a claim return from BVA (remanded plus another one not yet decided) anyway they took me within 1 week of examining my latest C&P's with a new grant added, then 3 days later another, then 2 days the same and offrred 100% P&T with NO FUTURE EXAMS if I took the deal RIGHT THEN, or else I would be at 70% and they would basically hold me up with more C&P exams for years, and stall... so I took the deal, they went back a little over a year for retro, but this way at least 2 of my kids could complete their master's degrees and other benefits were mine...It was just a year a go sometimes I still feel I should have fought but long term family benefits were better to take it. I didn't have someone with health care needs as desperate as yours but you have to look at the overall what is best for your family, and no more exams and no more appeals, and NOD's and fights can give you some security and peace. Receiving a larger check also helps pay the bills too. I hope for the best for you and your family, and sometimes what we want and what is offered might be a bit different, but in the long run peace of mind and family care and security do play a major part of the decision. Good luck with your decision and with you wife's condition too. 9. Prev had TVC as posted upon discharge in 2001 and they were??? Let's say he was glad when he got a real VSO who is a hadit member...unfortunately he needs someone who is active in this capacity, so that's why I posted here. Thanks pete53 for the suggestion...
  10. Army vet 8+ years service. Upon discharge awarded 20% compensation. Used Tx VC. Last year switched to another VSO, raised to 40%...Needs new VSO as this one is ill and not able to proceed with vet's claim. Please advise if anyone has experience with a knowledgeable VSO in this area. Thank you. I will pass any info on to this vet, as he is getting ready to submit his NOD. Prefers an insider(one able to view status on VARO computer site).
  11. IMHO some people put off getting done what should be done timely. I know how badly I was jacked around by some va personnel at the RO. I have the proof to show it! There are some who will work to get things done, but possibly due to overload they may shuffle the files and decide which to work on and when. You have to keep faith it will come to a resolution soon, and hopefully, in your favor. I would get so disgusted waiting and listening to stories of what would come about...do you have a VSO? If so have them view their computer screen to see where your c-file is and what stage it is really in, however there are times a check may arrive before they know what's what... Just try to have a little more patience. I know it took me over 7 yrs and so may detours took place. Some VA workers do try to get it right and others need to work on getting it right earlier. Overall this is not a bashing but just speaking from personal experience and experience with 7 other vets...1 got it right the first time around, and the rest are still appealing. Hang in their and sharing the info with your life partner may help both of you on this quest. Good luck buddy.
  12. I know a Gulf War vet who has this problem, amongst others, and even the VA Dr who did his C&P noted it but did not diagnosis the Disorder by name. So then does the vet NOD for this disorder that you got an award for? So the answer to your post is NO not diagnosed but yes for the twitching.

Carlie, with the title I thought you finally won...
  14. Good 4 u. Please change your avatar to reflect your new % awarded.
  15. I always get $6.00 deducted but once had a 4th appt and they gave me THAT $6.00 that day extra.
  16. Super win! Enjoy what you can, and not worry anymore. Make sure you file your yearly form, don't count on them to send it to you.
  17. "She hasn't drank nothing since November 11, 2010"... you posted, then how did she get this charge of DWI, reckless driving?
  18. Glad I popped in here for awhile to see some wonderful news of more awards! Yipee!!
  19. Wonder how they found out about you, unless staff are viewing old docket cases?? They are the Cadillac's of American Cars!!
  20. I make them send them a page and usually hear back in a few hours...usually that is.
  21. Good job. Congrats and enjoy an earned benefit from a power house.
  22. In Mo you get one free set of disabled plates per yr. If you want the W/C emblem on the plate you must present the state form signed by a Dr, ANP, Chiropractor, Eye Dr who state you need this handicapped plate. You cannot just get the W/C emblem or card without this certified statement form. You can get the free disabled plates and hand in the statement that states you are qualified for the handicapped card to hang on the mirror, or put on the dash, and then use it prn (as needed). This way it only says disabled veteran, and on days/nights you need to use the handicapped spots you use the card. You have to requests your plates 30 days again before they expire. Initially they give you regular plates to use till the disabled ones come in about 4-6 weeks. Then they notify you (the State) by mail to pick them up within 30 days.
  23. She is experiencing Loss...of companionship, husbands illiness,, and freedom. Now she has to rely on someone for transportation, probably household chores, and being alone. A therapist or grief counselor might be an avenue to seek, or a clergy person. She is focusing on anger because she cannot cope with these changes and yelling, or cursing or threatening behavior is her release mechanisms used. She wants to find fault to redirect her feelings of potential being alone. She is transferring what she can't deal with on on others who she can blame. You are too close, so she probly won't be genuine but someone who she feels comfortable with, or can trust may be able to help her refocus on finding ways to enjoy her husband for whatever time he has left, instead of blaming others and she is really hurting now. Blame to others as she does, here she thinks might take away some of her pain.
