  1. Ferris7060 Change that avatar to reflect that 100% Great news congrats. Well done!!
  2. Seems like they are still giving it to our troops. Even with 4 soldiers killing their wives last year and 2 committing suicide, the others are awaiting trial...It causes psychotic problems.Roche was one of the manufacture and try to say 1 in 10,000 may have reactions but read where it is at least 140 or more in 10,000 have major psychosis. The U S appears to still use this drug but there is an antibiotic drug Doxycycline that can be used instead. I guess the Lariam must be cheaper. These troops need to make a rational choice on whether or not to take this drug. The S/E are too many and the psychosis to the one who takes it is too great. I have not heard or read where they are out banning it. Roche just paid some claimants off...Supposed to be not produced by Roche in the U S anymore yet other company's offer the generic version to prevent and treat malaria. I wonder how many troops suffered S/E from this drug?
  3. Sign send and keep an eye on your bank account. All good things come to those who wait and you have waiting way too long. Fingers crossed!! Post us the good news asap!!
  4. Are you in the continental United States now? If so how long have you been here? How many years have you suffered with the autoimmune disease? I assume the SSDI granted on conditions you listed, and remember the VA will only grant on Service Connected conditions. So if they read your records, and all validate service connection, and the C&P examiners opinion are service connected then hopefully they will grant. No one can estimate when or how much they can and do award. Remember first thing is to receive an award, and you can always appeal one's you don't feel are awarded to the disability status you suffer with and have been diagnosed with.
  5. I got my letter in the mail Saturday with my new amount of my SSDI check increase to be dispersed with my January 2012 check. This was from SSA in Washington D.C.
  6. The examiner gives their opinion and the VARO personnel use that opinion as well as service records, medical/psychological reasons, and info you have submitted to assist in their determination/evaluation of your claim. The purpose of a C&P exam is to have the VA staff (ie hospital staff) give their opinion while not only evaluating your current condition/abilities/disabilities, but also review what was documented in your SMR/STR. An abundance of weight is given to the so called professional opinion.
  7. I believe you. know that been there am on your side with these careless employees.
  8. Nice to read another award. As Berta stated if unable to work apply for TDIU and for SSDI, even if previously SS award for regular SS.
  9. I did get the liar bit*h nurse practitioner removed from ever doing C&P exams at my VAMC. Her hubby is assistant administrator, so she kept a job there but is basically in an area not involved in patient care. In fact it took the VP of FOIA 4 days to find out where she was placed in the hospital. That liar cost me years of anguish...Terrible thing is how many other vets did she F over that didn't know what to do. They have crooked dishonest people in all jobs, and many in the VA too, although you may find a decent one ever now and then, far and few between.
  10. Great news you finally got this. Hate waiting such long time too, but at least they won't make you settle NOW or else continue to fight. I started 12/03-finally 09/10 they awarded100% PT No future exams effective date 09/09. BS but I settled too tired to fight them anymore. Plus they told me they would wrap me up in exams for life! Had the exams, appeals, declared deceased, proposal to sever, appeals, NOD, NOD Denovo with DRO personal hearing, BVA, remand...Glad you finally got treated fairly(after jacking you so many years) after fighting and suffering all these years...
  11. Original date of award? You filed in Mar1, 2011 for earlier date...16 page rebuttal / VARO person got lost in so many pages. Did you use a VSO? Watch your dates. Make sure you stay timely. You are lucky to get responses as soon as you do. Waiting since 03-09 and get what was originally requested and only granted from 09 to take it NOW or fight many more years, leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. Don't ever give up and remember valid info IMO/IME trumps all. Hang in there.
  12. Columbia Mo isn't too bad. We got some snow here. Last year had more than ever. Usually not bad to drive in. Usually have 4 seasons. Homes in some smaller towns around there are very reasonable. Columbia can be pricey. There are really small towns with some in town or on some acres reasonable like 50k maybe...one little town auction of older home (lady passed away) 3 bedrooms/2 baths double car garage on 4 lots went for 13k. It was about 60 yrs old but she kept it up. EVEN HAD A NEW FURNACE. Told my goofball spouse he should have bought it and rented it out. But that house was 100 miles from clinic/hospital. There are buys out there though. I am from NY and living in the boonies is fair sometimes I like the privacy, but for years when health was decent, hated it! Harry S Truman Veterans Memorial Hospital. Across the street is Mo Teaching hospital...really good one!!

  14. Sorry but this is sooo typical from these govt agencies VA SS etc. If they say they don't have it they hope you will just go away and not fight it. Remember retro is what they try to save too. If they think somewhere along the line they have to grant they hope you are not intelligent enough to file timely and in the end IF they have to award you, they can say you were late filing so you get it now but no retro. Stay at least one step ahead of them. So crooked!! Stay the course.Good luck.
  15. Thank you so much Berta. I don't remember finding it here. You are always up on the latest. I really appreciate all the time and effort you continue to offer to help all of us vets. You are NUMBER 1 in my book!!
  16. WHAT ABOUT YOUR MILITARY RECORDS DOCUMENTATIONS RE: Promotions/reduction;, pay grade deductions and loss of pay with any work problems; any visits to the military dr/hospital stating your pregnancy-term-status when documented pregnancy(single/married); date of marriage; date of delivery/where delivery occurred;any friends that can verify any of these statements/conditions? Check on facebook, classmates, other internet searches(I have found friends from 1967 school-1968-Air Force people and we got back in touch;air force together we served(for you it would be army together we served, all military;there are more out there see if you can find any others. Also your family members can write letter stating how you changed from a vibrant kind person prior to induction-to when you were discharged and all these years are distant and not caring to family members( like your mom dad sis, bro, cousins) and have avoided contact with them all these years....Ant dt's or professionals you ever told over the yrs to write a letter stating what you told them/approximate dates. Medications you have ever taken for the symptoms of depressive states you exhibited. Remember you cannot diagnose the condition but a professional can, however you can write some of the symptoms, ie crying, explosive temper, seeks sleeping as a coping mechanism/which exacerbated your sadness, refusal to eat/over eat/ drink alcohol to drown sorrow/never worked and made you ill/throw up and have frequent stomach aches... These people have to write a statement at the end of their letters with a sworn statement to the effects this is the truth to the best of their knowledge and ability they are giving of their own free will and is the whole truth regarding information they presented. Notarized too. Get all records from any hospitals, treatment centers. Dr's you ever saw, therapist, free clinics. counselors. friends who can vouch what they witnessed regarding your behavior...your kids can write some too just describing your behavior ie never went to games/plays/concerts/school functions/avoided contact with people/had no friends or stayed out all night neglected to wash their clothes.feed them, get them up for school in time...cried all the time/yelled and screamed all the time/stayed in bed avoided contact...descriptive signs and symptoms they observed...argued with spouse and both were combative or submissive to violence and would receive black eyes/bruises and stayed for the sake of the family unit and felt she had to in order to survive. You can write, I as a vet felt obligated vet married me, as told I was stupid for getting pregnant...this is nothing against you, but if these things were ever said use it as tools to prove you stayed in a relationship that was volitile, but you felt trapped and had suffered feelings of worthlessness. You have to prove these feelings existed since 76 plus whatever you really did/do feel. I am just giving you examples to use/which may help with your profile statements as a template for you. Did you ever tell a clergy person? They could vouch for you too. Wings put some excellent info for you to reference to. The syndrome stuff really may hit home. Make sure you have all of your records. Make double sure you meet your deadlines. Get you a strong CSO you may feel comfortable with. Seek a Veterans Womens Coordinator @ VAMC or VARO too. I have found some decent one's. If you cannot afford some of the books on VA Claims, seek a library out to obtain some. Veterans Benefit Manual, John D. Roche books, there really are so many but you will find much help with this site and check out Jim Strickland's site www,vawatchdogtoday.org and look up areas you want to seek info regarding MST. You will find lots of help here from many who have common diagnosis.MST. Good luck, and ask away. I did all I could on my own and finally won my claim it took over 7 years. It can be done. When it gets too deep for you and you have exhausted all your avenues, an attorney could be the route you want. IMO's and IME's are invaluable, and you may be able to get your own Dr's to write them to help you too.
  17. Went today and IL counselor said OMG I forgot about you for a few years and need to close out your account...Makes me drive 157 miles one way to close out my account. WTF!! So I got her to purchase a new chair for ne for my computer. Best one for correct posture. Then she says well if you get better and can work, just call me up and we will put you back into the program. Why couldn't she had just put that in a letter or email, or call me. I hate driving in a big city,,,hate it! I am still white knuckled over this. Well at least she said they will send me a check for my mileage in about 2 weeks. She tells me to work under $960.00 per month...yeah right cause i am 100% PT no future exams...Please...Well gonna get back with her cause I was using my old desk, will tell her to get me a decent one. I hate traveling far distances...I hate it!!
  18. They utalize them and nurse practitioners too. Remember if you haave 1 good day out of 30 do not talk about the one good day. Make sure anything he/she says and asks is what is written...go to the FOIA office (medical records) and get sign up for a copy of the exam. They will have to send it to you as the examiner will not be done with it on that day. Watch your posture, gate, ability/inability to stand, sit, walk, turn head and angels of which you can do it with/without pain. Don't hesitate to say if it is painful. Note if a gonimeter is used for angle measurements if applicable too. Good luck. Be truthful.
  19. I had 2 physicians verifying my conditions personally since 1971, and the VA had a NP...it went to BVA, was remanded back and settled for 100% PT no future exams, however the dale was to only go back a couple of years not the other 5...you have to watch them, they play mind games and basically tell you accept it now, or we will hold you up for years with future exams of OUR choice practitioners. Hadit folks helped me with this decision...I was seriously torn in the other way...so watch out for what games they play, and get what you can with some security award. Less likely than not is less than 50% chance you will succeed now...
  20. Physical harm to others indicate possible rage and your inability to maintain employment and jail term and other infractions seem to be escalating. Put in for a higher rating due to your inability to function in a work setting. What about your personal/home life? Valid accurate truthful documentation by witnesses, reliable people can assist you with evidence, and your medical mental health providers recommendations, and evaluations can only help your claim. Get as much evidentiary documentation and turn it in. Use your VSO along this way. You need to get help now so you do not seriously hurt someone else or yourself. Make sure you are truthful in your C&P exam. Don't make up anything, seems your behavior and documentation will assist your claim. You know you can go to your facility and receive treatment for your explosive behavior, versus waiting for a next appt and harming someone. They have a BH individual on call and also triage when normal hours.
  21. Unemployed and rated @ 70% put in for it now...the wheels on the gog move very slowly and he has to get a shot up on this now...
  22. Interesting how it is evaluated on different web sites. Thanks for posting your site where the info was determined. Something is much better than another year of nothing.
  23. I had a similar experience too a few months back. Called fee basis service @ VAMC told them the problem and I was 20 min away from local hospital, and 3 hrs away from them and they authorized the er visit and to pay...still fighting with the idiots, as the hospital sent the bill to another state fee base personnel and they denied. Not only did I give the ER the persons name but his number to call that it was authorized. IDIOTS!
  24. Did you have all of the conditions on one claim? Do you have a VSO? Did it change your award%? I see you have 70% rating on your avatar. What did they enclose as the reasons they approved or denied the disabilities you claimed?
