  1. Please accept my apology. I didn't read your other post before replying and I didn't run your disabilities thru without using the bilateral factor. If I had done so I would have understood your concern immediately, since you receive 90% as an end result with either computation. I'm sorry I wasn't helpful in your situation.
  2. Your disabiltities are evaluated as follows: 40%, For wounds, left buttock and thigh, Muscle Group XVII. 40%, For multiple wounds of the left leg and foot with neuropathy, common peroneal and posterior tibial. 40%, For wounds, right buttock, Muscle Group XVII. 30%, For wounds of the right arm and elbow fracture. 0%, For adhesions because of laceration of colon and residual of close colostomy. 0%, For laceration of bladder. 0%, For healed scars from your right thigh donor site. The combined rating is not arrived at by adding the percentages of your disabilitites, but is computed in accordance with a combined ratings table. ______________________________________ jalexand Assuming that the above list is your entire list, and your current rating is 90%, it appears that the bilateral factor was used. I ran your ratings thru the bilateral calculator (Hadit search for 'bilateral calculator') and received the following results: Bilateral Muscle Group XVII (L/40) + Muscle Group XVII (R/40)= 64 Combined Bilat. Percentage 64 + 10% = 70.4 Bilateral Percentage Rounded 70 Non-Bilateral Bilateral Percentage (70) + Wounds L leg/foot (40) = 82 + Wounds R arm/elbow Fx (30) = 87 Bilateral & Non-Bilateral Combined 87% with final Rating 90%

    I Won

Congratulations Ruby!! Send an IRIS inquiry and get rid of those lingering worries!
  4. Yahoo!! This is wonderful news. I'm staying positive on this...know your second test will have a repeat result!
  5. I've been following this topic since LarryJ initiated it. Everybody I have spoken to, including my VA Vocational Rehab counselor, has led me to believe that you had to have 70% before you could file. Thanks to all for this valuable information.
  6. Bergie, I've been reading over all of the information you've posted on heart disease today. Much to read but well worth checking over. Thanks for these links.
  7. I'm sorry you are having to go thru this. I didn't read every single word on the ASI website but this link says (under termination) that the spouse is covered to age 65 (then you get medicare with ChampVa as the supplement). Of course there's the possibility that the web page hasn't been update with any new rulings. If it were me, I'd would look into the situation a bit further. http://www.asicorporation.com/champva_Rules.html
  8. Just tried Ctrl +++/--- on Internet Explorer and found it works there. I normally use Firefox. I keep learning!
  9. Stillhere... Can't begin to tell you how many times I've hit the wrong button, or had an electrical outage, etc. while in the middle of an important document or online form! All my work, down the drain! Will I be able to remember how I worded everything? It was perfect, now it's gone! Due to these issues, I do as Notorious Kelly does and save my documents numerous times while working on them. Online forms are another story. My heart goes out to you...I know how irritating this is!
  10. Thanks for your help Pete. No luck here. Computer wise, mine is a 1 yr. old generic model with a 5-6 yr. old Benq monitor..nothing fancy. It's loaded with XP Pro. My skills are basic. I'm learning as I go. Guess I'll have to stick with the CTRL +/- method but hopefully others will be able to use the method you describe.
  11. I like your long pause---------"sand" I may have chosen other wording! No problem adding the other links....I appreciate the link that got me to the site!
  12. Now why doesn't that surprise me?!
  13. Congratulations Steppenwolf!
  14. Thanks Berta Your link is for the AO Leukemia worksheet only. Here are links to the other two: Ischemic Heart Disease: http://www.naus.org/news/documents/AO_Heart_WorksheetPrelim.doc Parkinson's Disease http://www.naus.org/news/documents/AO_Parkinsons_WorksheetPrelim.doc
  15. This would be so much easier if I could find it on my screen. Any ideas?
  16. I have days when I have a hard time seeing anything on a web page. This is a quick action for increasing/reducing font size to make reading much easier: To increase font size - simply click both the CRTL key & the + key at the same time until desired size is obtained. To decrease font size - simply click both the CRTL key & the - key at the same time until desired sized is obtained. Check it out! I've found this really helpful on those bad days.
  17. George, I didn't have any problems viewing your scanned documents and appreciate the fact that you've shared them with us. As Carlie mentioned, it is very hard to believe that somebody could get a secondary, such as this, to PTSD but you've proven that it can be done and these documents give explanation to the claim process. Thanks again!
  18. Wow! That is fast. Your brother must be thrilled.
  19. Notorious Kelly, This is really great news. Congratulations! Does your letter say whether you have to have future exams?
  20. Forman1983, Combined Bilateral = 55 +10%=60.5 (Rounded 61) Combined with Non-Bilateral = 61 + 10 = 65 Final Rating: 70% Great test of the bilateral formula Thanks so much
  21. JustPLS Thanks for your help. Calculator results: Rating%/Combined% 30=30+ 20=44+ 10=50+ 10=55+ 10=60 Rating 60%
  22. Thank you for letting us know about your success. Since my 50% is for PTSD I find your post very helpful. Congratulations!
  23. Sounds like success to me!!
  24. We'd like to run a test on the calculator. Many members don't have the Excel program or don't want to download unknown files to their computer, so we're willing to run the ratings thru the calculator. We'd like to run tests with and without bilateral disabilities. Post or private message your disability ratings list (numbers only)& your final rating so we can cross check our findings. Please indicate which of your ratings require using the bilateral factor. Here's a listing example: 40 Bilateral 20 Bilateral 30 Bilateral 30 Bilateral 50 20 10 VA rating: 100% chr49 & wife
