The BEST for your Claim

Question

I found out with my claim that the best way to get a more satisfying experience with a new claim or an appeal/reconsideration is to have a medical expert review your records. I used Valor Compensation Consulting for my appeal. I submitted my records to the company and apparently the examiner is a former Compensation and Pension examiner for the VA. After I received the results and finding I took it to my VSO for the appeal. It was much faster and easier since the Medical Professional had the experience and new what to look for in my records for my  appeal and connection ability. Also it took much less time for the raters at the VA to review because they had substantiated credible medical opinion. I won my appeal and cant thank Valor Compensation Consulting enough!!! Also they are veteran owned and unlike law firms they don't seek a percentage of the benefit awarded. Look them up I know they helped me they can probably help you too. www.valorcompensationconsulting.com

Semper Fi Marine,

You might want to edit your post to remove the link. All good information but the moderators of the forum try to keep solicitation links down to as little as possible.

(I AM NOT A RATER- I work the claims BEFORE they are rated, annotating medical evidence in your records, VA and Legal documents,  and DA/DD forms- basically a paralegal/vso/etc except that I also evaluate your records based on Caluza and try to justify and schedule the exams that you go to based on whether or not your records have enough in them to warrant those)

Appreciate the info, USSemberMC.  While "broken soldier's" point is well taken, there must be 50 or more posts on, for example, Dr. Bash.  Dr. Bash is a well known Vet advocate who does IMO's as a business, and charges a lot for them.

I wont speak for Tbird, but I have not seen her upset that a Vet recommends a legit product/service they used that helps Vets.

Of course, this does not mean spamming Vets with every online get rich scam, tho either.  If you used Dr. Bash, or a law firm that has given good service, I dont think that is bad for Vets.  I often repost, with links, for example,  articles by an attorney who represents Vets, Chris Attig.   Chris Attig has some great advice for Vets.

While Im unfamiliar with the firm vetsconsultion, Im gonna give you the benefit of the doubt, as you said you used them.  If this turns out to be another Vets scam, then, well, the truth will come out and you could be banned for spamming, if a moderator thinks you are scamming Vets.  I think its definately worth checking it out.

Veterans will decide if they think its a worthwhile service, and probably chime in.  If you have little or no medical background, I can see that it may be worthwhile for a consulting firm familiar with both VA and medical terms to look at your cfile and make sure you have a valid nexus for example.  No nexus would mean you are probably gonna be denied, and this will likely result in about a 5 year wait for benefits, even after you get the nexus.   While "no valid nexus" is not a problem for me, I have read hundreds of posts and found it to be a real problem for many, many Vets, as VA figured out how to deny me even with a valid nexus.

Paying a few hundred dollars or less which means my benefits arrive 5 years sooner sounds like a great investment to me, but I still dont know if this is the case or not with this firm, but I still see it could be for the right Vet.

How about a time-line on your claims and appeals? You were awarded at your DRO ?? Review or Hearing?

Sliding scale or flat rate for IMO? How long did it take to get?

I am writing my memoirs and would love it if you could help a shipmate out and look at it.

I've had a few challenges, perhaps the same as you. I relate them here to demonstrate that we can learn, overcome, and find purpose in life.

The stories can be harrowing to read; they were challenging to live. Remember that each story taught me something I would need once I found my purpose, and my purpose was and is HadIt.com Veterans.

A large number of Vets need all the help they can get, when it comes to claims and appeals.

When it comes to enlisting aid, either a paid Professional or just free advice, a Vet must perform his due diligence.  How many of us have been tainted by our 1st experience with a VSO-Rep, that was less than expected.

Valor Comp Consulting LLC appears to have been recently registered in AZ as an LLC 11/25/2015, and it's single principle & IMO provider, Ms Spandenberg is a PA. The VCC's registered agent is Keyt Law LLC (Tax & Accounting firm) and they share the same office. I found no mention, as to the PA's experience as a C & P examiner.

Assistance offered from 1st claim thru BVA Appeal. Truly, a 1 stop shop. Cost?????

    • These decisions have made a big impact on how VA disability claims are handled, giving veterans more chances to get benefits and clearing up important issues.

      Service Connection

      Frost v. Shulkin (2017)
This case established that for secondary service connection claims, the primary service-connected disability does not need to be service-connected or diagnosed at the time the secondary condition is incurred 1. This allows veterans to potentially receive secondary service connection for conditions that developed before their primary condition was officially service-connected.

      Saunders v. Wilkie (2018)
The Federal Circuit ruled that pain alone, without an accompanying diagnosed condition, can constitute a disability for VA compensation purposes if it results in functional impairment 1. This overturned previous precedent that required an underlying pathology for pain to be considered a disability.

      Effective Dates

      Martinez v. McDonough (2023)
This case dealt with the denial of an earlier effective date for a total disability rating based on individual unemployability (TDIU) 2. It addressed issues around the validity of appeal withdrawals and the consideration of cognitive impairment in such decisions.

    • I met with a VSO today at my VA Hospital who was very knowledgeable and very helpful.  We decided I should submit a few new claims which we did.  He told me that he didn't need copies of my military records that showed my sick call notations related to any of the claims.  He said that the VA now has entire military medical record on file and would find the record(s) in their own file.  It seemed odd to me as my service dates back to  1981 and spans 34 years through my retirement in 2015.  It sure seemed to make more sense for me to give him copies of my military medical record pages that document the injuries as I'd already had them with me.  He didn't want my copies.  Anyone have any information on this.  Much thanks in advance.

    • Caluza Triangle defines what is necessary for service connection
Caluza Triangle – Caluza vs Brown defined what is necessary for service connection. See COVA– CALUZA V. BROWN–TOTAL RECALL

This has to be MEDICALLY Documented in your records:

Current Diagnosis.   (No diagnosis, no Service Connection.)

      In-Service Event or Aggravation.
Nexus (link- cause and effect- connection) or Doctor’s Statement close to: “The Veteran’s (current diagnosis) is at least as likely due to x Event in military service”

    • Do the sct codes help or hurt my disability rating
    • VA has gotten away with (mis) interpreting their  ambigious, , vague regulations, then enforcing them willy nilly never in Veterans favor.

They justify all this to congress by calling themselves a "pro claimant Veteran friendly organization" who grants the benefit of the doubt to Veterans.

      This is not true,

      Proof:

About 80-90 percent of Veterans are initially denied by VA, pushing us into a massive backlog of appeals, or worse, sending impoverished Veterans "to the homeless streets" because  when they cant work, they can not keep their home.  I was one of those Veterans who they denied for a bogus reason:  "Its been too long since military service".  This is bogus because its not one of the criteria for service connection, but simply made up by VA.  And, I was a homeless Vet, albeit a short time,  mostly due to the kindness of strangers and friends.

Hadit would not be necessary if, indeed, VA gave Veterans the benefit of the doubt, and processed our claims efficiently and paid us promptly.  The VA is broken.

A huge percentage (nearly 100 percent) of Veterans who do get 100 percent, do so only after lengthy appeals.  I have answered questions for thousands of Veterans, and can only name ONE person who got their benefits correct on the first Regional Office decision.  All of the rest of us pretty much had lengthy frustrating appeals, mostly having to appeal multiple multiple times like I did.

I wish I know how VA gets away with lying to congress about how "VA is a claimant friendly system, where the Veteran is given the benefit of the doubt".   Then how come so many Veterans are homeless, and how come 22 Veterans take their life each day?  Va likes to blame the Veterans, not their system.
