ptsd C&P for Pes cavus/Knee injury and ED

Hello,

I just completed a C&P but am unable to see the C&P notes in ebenefits.Not sure why

i was told by the C&P doctor that I was  service connected for all claims from my med board physical.

Anyone's thoughts would be greatly appreciated

ED secondary to 200Mg Setraline for Combat PTSD currently 70%

Left knee injury,the md just looked at my knee after removing brace and since I could not bend it she told me to put the brace back on

but no measurements were taken.I showed her the notes from Military xray saying there was arthritis.

Pes Cavus:the doctor looked at my feet and then had me put my shoes back on?

Welcome to Hadit.  It takes at least 3 days for your exam results to be available on the blue button download feature of myhealthyvet...if it was a inhouse exam at the VA.  Otherwise you may be SOL.

On here there is a link that takes you to the rating chart, you would have to look on there to see what your rating for your feet would be.  For me, I have a 30% rating for pes cavus w/plantar fasciitis bilateral.  As you well know, your feet issues aggravate everything that goes up from there...however, that being said, does not mean the VA will grant or recognize any secondary issues due to the pes cavus...without a 9 round fight.

According to my VA Podiatrist, bunions are not caused by anything more than your genes...which is to say...hereditary.  He cited a recent study that showed an equal occurance rate of bunions among shoe wearing and non-shoe wearing people groups.  Said study showed that native peoples of Asia and Africa had a near identical rate of bunions per person as do the shoe wearing populace of the more modern areas of the world.  Here's the caveat...that means bunions would be a secondary SCD due to the simple fact of that rule being caused by(not bunions) OR aggravated by(bunions)a SCDs...which in my case, and hopefully yours will be the SC pes cavus w/plantar fasciitis. I only recently found this out, in the past month, so I have not filed that claim yet.

It may well be that since your VA podiatrist has already DXd you with these issues, the examiner didn't need to go indepth with the exam.  Hope that's the case for you.  My C&P exam for my feet was done by a VA Podiatrist, but not one that I have seen in my VAMC Podiatry clinic. He hemmed and hawed while having me walk around the exam room, and he checked my feet and wiggled my toes, but didn't really give anything away. But when I saw his notes and he cited an entry in my SMR, making the SC link, I knew I was in.

Thank you Andy,seems the C&P notes are locked,it says the C&P is complete but I am not allowed to view notes.First time this has happened.

The 2 va podiatrist both said in their treatment notes and is was due to the in service and related to being 0311.

right foot worse then left,i am going back for an injection next week hopefully I will have an update by then

Most VA Dr' won't try to help us if were going for a comp claim, I think the VA has told them not to and set rules for them if they do any type of nexus or help in anyway with a veterans comp claim they will be fired.

So if I was you I'd go see a private Dr  and let him know  what you need him to do for you  just be honest and take your VA Medical Records with you on this type disability and ask the private Dr to give his impression/opinion opposed/contrary to the VA's and use VA Language such as ''least likely as not''...50%greater   or likely as not to be military related  and that he has read your medical records  ect,,ect,,

its good to find a specialist in this field.

Also when you see a VA Dr

wait 3 days then check your Notes and make copies right then of anything you need. so you will have them in case those notes disappear.

I have Pes Cavus  and I though everyone's feet hurt all the time.   It was when I got a job at the Post Office and after one long night on my feet I found I could not walk to my car that I knew something was really wrong. I knew that when I was in the Army I had a hard time with long marches and had knee problems.  I think since my military service was 46 years ago it is too late for me.   The VA considers Pes Cavus to be a congenital deformity.  However, if your duty aggravated it and you filed within one year of ETS you probably have a good chance.  One thing you want to avoid with Pes Cavus is weight gain.  I had it when I was 6 foot and weighed 160 lbs.  Now it is much worse since I am not that slim.  The medical interventions to fix Pes Cavus are probably worse than Pes Cavus.
