In Need Of Dro Job Discription
Greetings, I am trying to help another vet with his claims. The DRO is refusing to use edivence on 2 C&P exams performed by 2 specialists at a VAMC which gave their opinions that were greatly on the side of the veteran, now the DRO wants another C&P exam for the same condition. (The multiple C&P exams were done less then 6 months ago). I am concerned the DRO has no clue what he or she is doing and if he goes back for yet another C&P exam for the same issue who knows whom he will get (General MD, PA or God forbid a N.P.) I am going to try and challenge this DRO. The veteran in question has many service related issues that make it extremely hard for h…

Blue Waters Ao- This Is What I Feared
I have tried to get this message out to reflect the point of NVLSP_ file the claim before the VA takes steps to change all this- Haas is Law of the Land and that can change anytime! This is what I mean! http://vawatchdog.org/old%20newsflashes%20...9-15-2006-1.htm "VA NOT PROCESSING AGENT ORANGE CLAIMS FROM "BLUE WATER NAVY" VETS -- VA contemplating appeal of Court decision granting Agent Orange benefits to "Blue Water Navy." Claims put on hold at Regional Offices. Vets to get letter of explanation." They will try for a Stay in these proceedings- that means the claims are held in abeyance until the regs VA either succeeds or loses- my bet is- wit…

Help! Confused About Dic
Help! I have been trying to decide if I should apply for DIC. My hubby died a little over 2 weeks ago but never filed a claim with VA after retiring from the navy in 1984. At the time he was retired from the Navy with a medical condition of the back and given a service connected 20% rating fm the Navy. One of the factors causing his death on the death certificate was DMII. With the "blue water" ruling he might have had a claim due to exposure to AO. Going over his last DD214 I notice he was awarded 2 different Vietnam Serviuce metals, a vietnam campaign medal and a vietnam Gallantry Cross. One thing that confuses me is that I downloaded the claim from 21-534 yesterday…

ptsd Organic Brain Syndrome Due To Head Trama
everyone, I need some help on this. I am attempting to assist a vet who in 1968 (age 19) received severe head trama after being struck by a section of anchor chain that fell three levels before striking him. He is currently receiving 50% for Loss of part of skull and 10% for organic brain syndrome. he has been experiencing ptsd type complaints and depression from this incident. He was medically discharged from the Navy in 1968, and has been seeing a VA psycharist. I am attempting to connect the dots between the incident and ptsd, and / or, the organic brain syndrome with the depression, and / or, the ptsd and depression. Thanks, Mike

Soc Leaves Out Main Issue Claimed
I kust found my SOC from 5 Feb.2000. They didn't even cover my extra-schedular IU. I sent in a NOD listing all of my reason and listed my main reason for IU on it. I also disagreed with a reduction of 20% for a SCD, but did not send any evidence . They put down my SC eczema as not deservicing of extra-scedular evaluation. This was not what I was asking for the extra-schedular rating. I was living in a little with my family (thank goodness I wasn't in my car agin, or under overpasses again! Winter is hard on the streets. I was having so much anxiety from all of this I shut down, and didn't send off the BVA Appeals form to them. My bust, that time....never…

Doctors Report
John went to the DR. office last Fri. for a preop physical, we got his ekg and his notes yesterday, on them he put that John's depression is due to my disabilities.. Which is totaly wrong John has never been diagnoissed with depression but put on Zoloft many years before we even started going to this Dr. My disabilities didn't start until 2001 and John was on Zoloft way before then. I intend to call him on it today. he will not be in today but I intend to ask him for his reason on putting that down. and telling him we want it removed out of his file ( I don't know if we can do that and if they will remove it ) Question is will this hurt John ? As I stated before in an…

tdiu Vamc Reversal ? Is This A Clue
Back in December 2004 I went to my Local hospital emergency room about 3 times. I filed the claims with my local VAMC and in April 2005 I received a letter from the Salem Va. VAMC saying that my claims for payments for my Emergency visits had been denied. I have had 5 C&P exams in the lasr 2 months and is currently awaiting to be rated on them. This week I recieved letters again from the Salem Va. VAMC saying that the calims from 2004 has now been authorized for payment. Is it possible that my current VA claims could have something to do with this reversal. I also have an Appeal for TDIU on file.

Does This Make Sense?
I was just laying in bed thinking about my claim for chronic pain. It was listed on my first claim, they ignored it, they ignored it when I told them in my nod. They ordered a exam for it, the doctor diagnosed it and put it in the C&P report and that was the end of it. But get this, when I applied for depression on a second claim they approved it as a secondary condition to ................Serious Pain Syndrome..............WTF???????????
