Problems With My Fathers Sc Disability Payments
I am the son of a WW2 veteran and we had a problem with my fathers payments to the bank starting in January 2011 due to some changes in his accounts at the bank we had to make due to him being under the Power of Attorney because he had Alzheimer The bank started to to send his direct deposit checks back to the VA for his disability(100% SC) without telling us first. We tried to get the payment restored and get the money going back to his account and the VA was dragging there feet. In Nov my father passed from the Alzheimer and now as Executor of an estate i am trying to get the money for the estate. Our local county VA rep told my sister in law that we may ne…

tinnitus Taking So Long......
Injured my back in the Marines. I could hardly walk when separated and was given 10% by the USMC. This was back in the dark ages, 1980, so there weren't a lot of resources back then. VA rated me at 20% about a year later. Currently at 20% for the lower back injury. 10% for tinnitus and 0% for hearing loss. I've got to look at that hearing loss. Just got new hearing aids and they made me realize just how bad my hearing actually is. Range of motion on my back is almost nothing. Almost no forward movement and very little side to side. Pain radiates down both legs. Left leg is noticeably smaller and weaker. Very hard to balance on left leg alone for any leng…

Nvlsp Sent A Complaint For My Claim
Wanted to let everyone know the the NVLSP, sent me a letter this weekend, stating that the VA was not in compliance with the Nehmer decision when they made my decision back in July stating 0 percent for CAD, even though in their decision it stated that my CAD was service related. I have been back and forth with the AMC and the Philadelphia regional office since then so I am hoping that now with the letter from the NVLSP the VA will be deciding my claim soon. According to their letter the VA must decide on my case by June, 2012 and I must be paid by July 21, 2012. Hopefully this is the end of the road for me. The person at the NVLSP told me that my claims file wa…

Stopping Bva Appeal
When I started the whole disability claim process I had a rep. from the Vietnam Vets. helping me. Through the process I learned alot and ended up doing most of it on my own(with a ton of help from everyone on HADIT-Thanks!) My claims were decided in 2010 by a DRO and I am happy with the decision. I recieve a letter today stating that my appeals have been forwarded to the BVA for disposition. I call the 1800 number and find out that the Vietnam Vets. have appealed two of my claims, the ones they first helped me with, even though they have already been decided by a DRO. Two questions: How do I stop the appeal? Will this do anything to my claims which were alr…

tinnitus Ihd Service Connected/did Not Claim Hearing.
I was asked to look at a claim for a Veteran who just got 60% IHD claim approved, in going over his claim when the decision came back, I noticed that his Rep didn't put in a claim for his hearing loss and tinnitus. He has been provided with hearing aids by the VA. How would be the best way to word this claim for him? I didn't do his first claim so I was really surprised when I asked him if he had any compensation for hearing loss and tinnitus and he informed me that he previously didn't have any percentages before this. Thanks you all. Carolyn

Presumptive Ihd With A Twist
I MIGHT have a new issue to present, it worries me... I have a claim for IHD under AO. It is in the notification phase but I have not received letter. I understand you have to go to an RO to start the ebenefits. (6 hours away, so have not done so YET) I was a CA Correctional Officer when I had my bypass and a few years later my heart attack. I had symptoms for YEARS before one doctor finally decided that something was going on with me other than heart burn. My first angiogram sent me immediately to bypass. Previous ER trips had no results, a couple nights in the hospital but no heart attack. In any event, I returned to work following each but a year after the hear…

I was awarded 10% for combined hearing loss/tinitus. I was told that 10% was the max amount one could claim for this. Is that correct ? Thanks.
