  2. Thousands of disabled vets may get special pay HeraldNet - Everett,WA,USA They would be paid on top of disability compensation, thus ending for these veterans the longtime ban on "concurrent receipt." The size of the eligible ... See all stories on this topic
  3. yoggie for you to say carlie was playing the rape card, is very disappointing, it's not playing a card to say you got shot, or hit by a truck it's just the reality of her situation and many others. army does bitch and moan a lot, sorry army that just the way i see it, and since carlie is a mod and has been with us a long time she has a better understanding the history of posts and where and how and who which she as well as the other moderators use to make decisions and posts, there is much about various members that moderators are privy to. we make our decisons based on what is good for the board as whole, what has worked and what hasn't.
  4. perfect time of year jbasser, very happy for you!
  5. glad we could assist, remember to take care of yourself, it can be a bit overwhelming when you win and then a bit of depression may set it in, don't worry though it will pass. this is a great example of how your one question may help many others who never post. you make sure and take care of yourself, you are important.
  6. this is great news, i am very glad you found us and they we could provide assitance and support. relax take some time to breath and let it sink in. pass the word about hadit.com and enjoy your life.
  7. hang in sixthscents, you've fought the good fight for many veterans and burn out is very high for advocates that have no health problems, you should be proud of the work you have done and now it is time to take care of yourself!
  8. congratulations pete, so happy for you a wonderful name for your first grandson, i can only imagine your joy, enjoy every bit of that joy you deserve it.
  9. this dicussion forum is for veterans trying to gain their earned benefits. that this is your first post makes me question your credibility, if you think you got a real gripe take it to the va, not here, if you are not a veteran trying to get your earned benefits or someone supporting and advocating for veterans, then frankly i don't really care what you think and clearly you have come to the wrong place. what you sound like is a flame starter, a troll, or something just as distasteful. maybe not, but that's what i think and you know what else i think? you are outta here!
  10. tsnave is a chief petty officer and shouldn't have any trouble deleting anything. :D
  11. spike so sorry to hear what you are going through, what an emotional roller coaster. stay strong and i think the idea about writing in a journal would be a good one for you, you have to get those feelings out and writing them down is about the safest way i can think of.
  12. NOTE: phone number deleted by me - please do not post personal identifiying information on the board, if you want you may pm or email members with your personal information. This is for your own protection.
  13. you should have the abilit to delete posts i see the delte button at the bottom of the post on the right next to reply i have changed the delete function to petty officer 3rd class and above.
  14. here you go Service Disabled Percentage Rating Calculator
  15. if you decide to post your writ please make sure to delete any personal identifying information. my opinion is you should wait to see if it wins, that way the writ you put up can be perfected.
  16. here's a link to search for cue that i hope you will find helpful http://www.google.com/custom?domains=HadIt...D%3A1&hl=en
  17. danang me too, sometimes i get what feels like the shakes but internally, if someone leaves the door unlocked and i find it the next morning then it's a whole day of checking doors, closets, windows, showers, and then double checking layioung scenarios in my head, it's just what i do, i can control it better than i use to so that's an upside. maybe you could rig a buzzer at the door and hang her keys over it perhapss she could buzz to let you know she is going in or out. though i doubt if you will go for it. my alarm system is setup up to tell me which door or window is open when it opens big benefit for me.
  18. i had trouble with disorentation while taking trazedone and stopped it for that reason. it was very noticeable for me i am now on 100mgs of doxepin though some nights i don't take it for fear i won't hear someone breaking in, working on that. i have bouts of nightmares like many here, i'm having a lock put on my bedroom door this week or next which should i hope let me sleep a bit sounder, i'm also trying an audiobook called deep sleep and i also find an album of tibetan monks chanting to be relaxing. sleep is very important, if you find something that works for you take it i say, sometimes i go days without sleep and that is no good for me by the third day i start to sound like joe pesci in the lethal weapons movies ;) my sister came in unannounced the other day and she stood in the living room watching her car to make sure her headlights went out, i crept into the living room with knives ready, took me several hours to come down from that and reminded by sister she must call out when coming in, she said who else would it be and i layed out several scenarios for her she still thought i was nuts and so it goes.
  19. i see it towards the bottom, is anyone else having a problem seeing social chat?
  20. from the schedule for rating disabilites 100% Mental Disorder "Total occupational and social impairment, due to such symptoms as: gross impairment in thought processes or communication; persistent delusions or hallucinations; grossly inappropriate behavior; persistent danger of hurting self or others; intermittent inability to perform activities of daily living (including maintenance of minimal personal hygiene); disorientation to time or place; memory loss for names of close relatives, own occupation, or own name."
  21. from the schedule for rating disabilities http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-....1.1.5.2.109.74 0% "A mental condition has been formally diagnosed, but symptoms are not severe enough either to interfere with occupational and social functioning or to require continuous medication" though i've never seen 0% for ptsd

  23. Veterans’ COLA bill sent to Bush By Rick Maze - Staff writer Posted : Friday Oct 19, 2007 15:13:45 EDT A bill ordering a 2.3 percent cost-of-living adjustment in veterans’ benefits passed in Congress late Thursday and was sent to the White House for President Bush’s signature. http://www.armytimes.com/news/2007/10/mili...nscola_071019w/
  24. great example of a 100% veteran working former senator max cleland, but if you are being paid because you are unemployable then if you get employment you not unemployable. if you are 100% for mental disorders including ptsd well it just won't add up for the va, if you are so mentally disabled as to be 100% it would not be possible to hold a job.
  25. thank you i think you start a new topic with your rhemotory arthitis so you can get more eyes on it.
