Ssd Approved !
Hi All......... First I'd like to say that if it were not for this site and reading the post to get prepared this probably would not have happened so quick or happened at all, this site is GREAT....I thank everyone here and everyone that responded to my post and all the other post... Now for the Good news....Received a call from SS this morning at 09:00 saying I was approved, They are back dating it to Mar 3 2008, thats when I became 100% thru the VA. There is a 5 month waiting period where you get NOTHING "0" Then the month you are entitled to it you get the following month on the last Wednesday of the month, so the first check will be Oct (for Sept) I filed…

Ssdi Using Mtf Records
Does anyone know if? SSDI uses Military Treatment Facilities medical records when processing cases? I have over a dozen visits to FT. Leavenworth for orthopedic issues, and physical therapy, as well as regular and seperation physical. These records were included in my application along with medical records from my Primary Care manager, and 5 other orthopedic surgeons, and pain manager. Has anyone had good results with SSDI using their MTF records to establish or verify medical problems with these records??? Also wondering, if anyone knows that 2 botched knee replacements, and still walking with cane, or walker for long distances, and osteoarthrits diagnosis, alon…

ptsd Question On Ssd While 100%
Hi all, I am rated 100% disabled, 40% from gunshot wounds and 70% PTSD.. I know I cannot work. I have applied for SSD and also had all my medical records from all my doctors, VA and Outside Doctors which I took up to the SS meating. I hear a lot of people saying They always (mostly) turn you down the first time, or they want to find a way for you to work. Well, that doesn't make sense if I cannot work due to the VA 100%. If they said I could work, would I not lost my 100% rating. Seems like it does not make sense. They also informed me that it would be 5 weeks before they received any other paperwork needed from my doctors. And usually takes 5-12 months before you hear a…

tdiu Just Found This Forum, Have Some Questions
Howdy. I am new to this forum and oy! do I have a lot of questions! I am 52, w/ 40% VA disability but have secondary conditions appealed. I am not TDIU but do believe I will succeed in getting there. A new note in my medical records state I "am unable to do any physical activity w/out discomfort." This has only just been submitted in my appeal. I am VAsc for feet & an ankle. But secondary conditions, knees, hip, back... render me unemployable. My trades have been Truck driving, construction, factory & machinist. I am unable to do anything like those. Do I have to be VA rated IU before applying for SS? I have been unemployed since 2004. Am I e…

Military Pension, Disability Compensation & Social Security
I am a retired veteran with 27 years of service and receiving a military pension. I am also receiving VA Disability compensation at the rate of 80% for service connected disability. I have been trying to find information online that tells me if I am able to draw my social security benefits in conjunction with my pension and VA Disability compensation. Can somebody point me in the right direction. I know once you submit a claim and it is disapproved, it takes forever to get a reverse decision on the claim. Thanks, GEdgar

ptsd Social Security, Age 67, 100% P&t
I am age 67, been recieving SS since age 65, never had SS Disability. Since turning 65 I have been rated 100% P&T PTSD with Chap 35 for Dependents, etc. I have been turned down as not suitable for Voc Rehab and am now going into the ILP program. Is there anything I need to do with the Social Security Admin about my VA status? My concern is that some of my SS can be taxable. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Stephen
