ptsd 1st Denial From Ssd
I am writing not sure what to do now, I just got my first denial from ss stating that my condition is not severe enough to keep me from working. I am 100% PTSD with depressive features from the VA it was awarded in 2006 backdated till 2004. It has been marked as total service-connected disablity, permanent in nature never to be reviewed. I was award this due to a sexual assualt that happened while in the military. I have a outside dr that will state that I am unable to work and I have not worked in over a year. I filed a 2nd appeal but just am stunned that I was denied it took me 10 years to get a 100% rating and just to get the Va to admit that I was sexually assual…

Thinking About Filing Ssi Claim
Hello Fellow Vets I just came across this site so i thought i ask my question. I live in CA last year my service connected disability got really bad I lost my job and received state disablity for 1 year, i did not apply for ssi thinking i would get better (cluster Headaches), so far no change in my health, infact i am diagnosed with Major Depressive disorder which increased my rating to 90%. After my State disablity Ran out i applied for Unemployment as i have to get some income and i am looking for a job, but it doesnt look like my health will allow me to take so much time off work. tdiu Any Chance To Reopen My Ssdi Claim?
I received my 100% VA disability for unemployability 8-9 years ago. The rating was based on combat related injuries from VietNam. I shortly thereafter applied for SSDI. During the original hearing, the court appointed occupational specialist testified that considering my disabilities, I was unable to work. The judge disagreed, stating that I could operate a carnival ride or work as a mailboy in a large office. Honest! (I live in the country.) He turned me down. My second appeal was denied, which my lawyer claimed was automatic. During the process of my third appeal, my case was transfered to a SS office several hunderd miles away, and my lawyer declined to travel…

Decision Made-don't Know The Answer Yet
Called today to see if a decision was made on my SSD claim, I have additional info to support my claim if there was no decision. I was told today they made the decision April 24th. I have called every week and they told me no, so I keep sending in more evidence, everytime I go to the VA I get a copy of my records and send them in. That decision was made 2 weeks after my last visit with their Doc. I am not encouraged that it is a favorable decision. Will let you know what the answer is when I get it. The guy that answered the phone and told me it was decided April 24th, said we can't tell you the decision, which I already knew. He did say if it was favorable…

Your Social Security An Enlightment
Your Social Security Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. Be sure and show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson on what's what. And it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat of Republican. Facts are facts!!! Our Social Security Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised: 1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary. 2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program, 3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be…

Hearing Date Set
My husband received a letter with his hearing date for August 12. One day before the letter arrived, he got a phone call from a lady at the adjucation and review dept., asking him when he was treated at the VA. He told her for yrs. and then had to tell her how to get his records. I hope they have them before the trial date. Anyway, he has never had any kind of exam from SS, like a mental exam or heart exam or anything. Is this normal? Do they sometimes make a decision without exams ordered from them? thanks, sbrewer

I called today to check on the status of claim. Voicemail for my caseworker said she no longer works there. Called 800#, nice lady said my case was closed July 11th and it is at local SSA offie. I had called on the the 11th, to verify they had received all medical records, as the week before, they had not. I have not had an interview, but submitted very recent medical records showing I use a cane to walk, because of 2 knee replacements on same knee, and take medications for chronic pain. They did not call anyone I listed on the form either. Any ideas??

Phone Call For Records
Hi, My husband got a call Friday from a lady with the adjucation and review dept. She wanted to know what date he saw a dr. at the VA..He's been going there for yrs. She wanted to know how to get his records. So, he told her to contact release of information to get his records. So, I guess he was turned down 2 times when they had no records, since they're just asking about them now. Anyway, does this mean anything...are we getting closer? thanks, sbrewer
