I Got The Ball Rollin
I went down to the Social Security dep. today. I got my claim filed and sent. It only took about an hour and 30 min. And to my luck it was an ex-Marine that helped me file it. He said " Semper Fi I got ya covered." I didnt think of any questions untill I left of coarse. After I see the doc for the eval and "get Approved" will I be back payed from the date I filed? Ill be getting a lot more then I thought if im approved too. And since Ive got a kid due next year will I be payed for him too? Wish I could have thought of this stuff while I was there. Thanks for the help guys and gals.

Im in the process of getting my VA disability taken care of. I was told that I should also file for SSD. Dont I havent to be like 65 or something for that? I have no clue how it works. If some one could guide me to who to talk with to get my SSD started that would be awesome. And also explain a little what it is and all. Thanks!!

Ssdi Applied For, But Have Work History Concern
Another disability stepping stone here. Application is in for ssdi, ok so far, signed everything,e t c. My concern is the clerk asked about how long I was on my feet, bending, etc,,,and I think I answered as truthfully as possible. Clerk got hurried at the end of the appointment and smoothly presented the questions reading them off the screen. I am worried about how it shows my ability to walk, stand, etc. but not being able to do them is the reason I am asking for ssdi. I just can't do the work and have applied for ssdi. Sure hope I didnt blow it by describing the tough physical aspects of the work I'm used to do but am unable to do now. Thanks for listening…

Findings Integrated Templates
http://www.socialsecurity.gov/appeals/fit/index.html What is FIT? The Findings Integrated Templates (FIT) is a Commissioner initiative designed to improve the quality and consistency of Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR) decisions. The FIT approach integrates the findings of fact into the body of the decision. This website makes FIT available to representatives. In conjunction with the new electronic disability process, representatives now have access to FIT and may take advantage of this new and innovative tool in order to better serve their clients. Representatives wishing to submit proposed decisions for consideration should do so using the FIT…

ptsd Alj Hearing
I may have to attend an ALJ Hearing in the near future (I have been turned down twice for SSDI), and I am using Allsup's services. I am service-connected 70%/30%IU P & T for PTSD. I have a Master's Degree & 2 BA degrees. I mention this because those facts were used in the past to deny my SSDI claim. SSA said that although I couldn't do the type of work I did several years ago, I could do 'less complicated' work... The last job that I was fired from required an HS degree, and paid $10 an hour, and I couldn't keep that one either. My problems are an inability to focus and/or concentrate, follow directions, and I also had absenntee problems as well. I am 54 ye…

ptsd What Should I Do?
I have a claim in with the VA for PTSD so I thought I would also file for SSD. I emailed my conditions (PTSD, major depression, anxiety and alcohol dependance) to Allsup. I followed up with a phone call and was told they would not represent me because there is no way to prove which condition came first. I have to be honest with my claims, so how does one justify the fact that the PTSD symtoms where the cause of the other conditions, resulting in self medication and dependence to both the VA & Social Security? Thirty-eight years ago I had no idea what was wrong with me.

Ssdi Backpay
When I applied for benefits I put december of 2006 as the last date I had worked. I got the letter saying I had met the medical rules for disability. The letter went on to say they had determined that I did not meet these requirements until Dec 2007. So, my question is this, does the waiting period start at Dec 2007, meaning I would not be eligible until April 2008 or is the five months figured prior to Dec 2007? I hope this is clear enough to get a response, thanks The reason they say it was Dec 2007 was I was admitted to the hospital and have to have another stent put in. 68chstiger

Questions That Need Attention
Ok i will start here and try to keep this short. I enlisted in the U.S Army Reserves in 1992. While i was enlisted i changed MOS and was moved to a new unit. When i first got to unit for a scheduled weekend meeting , they requested that 8 unit members travel to Millington ,TN Naval Base for physicals. While in transit to this scheduled appointent , a drunk driver ran a red light and we hit him running about 45mh . Of course the back of this humvee didn't have seat belts and those in the back including myself was like popcorn going off. Well i hurt my back and neck and was sent to greenwood hospital in mississippi. This happened in 1998. I had a lawyer that handled…
