Continous Hearing In 30 Days!
I don't know where to start but here goes. I had my ALJ Hearing and had no Lawyer. The Lawyer I had was neglecting my case no comunication even wrote me not to call them they would call me. even got into a shouting match with Paralegal Unprofessional. Sec Soc try to get in touch with them and they never replied and I ask them not to represent anymore. They withdrew but expect to get payed if I get awarded. I believe if you help that person win their case and you go to the hearing and do paper work yes you deserve to get paid I have no objection about it but They did not do anything to help my case and I found that out at my hearing. The assistant ask me if I had any…

hypertension Ssd And Va Comp - Again :)
I am sure someone has answered, but I will ask anyway. MY husband had a stroke due to high blood pressure at the age of 46 and is completely paralyzed on his left side and totally dependent on us for day to day living. That was over a year ago. We immediately applied for SSDI and was awarded the social security in less than 3 months, but of course had to wait the 6 months. We also have a 14 year old daughter and found out that ss will give us income for our daughter, and they do - 50% of his SSDI. We then applied for Va Comp, as my husband was diagnosed with high blood pressure and treated for it for the first time ever while in the Navy - Okinawa to be exact and has…

tdiu Ssdi And Va Comp Used As Income
Hello All: I am currently on SSDI and 60% sc. I fully expect to go to TDIU 100% soon, (not so sure about P&T). I want to start to repair my credit and hopefully buy a house. I expect a 2 to 3 year process. My question has to do with using VA compensation and SSDI as income to qualify for a home purchase. Do mortgage companies or banks use those as sources of income? Has anyone had experience in that regard? Thanks, RWS

Recieved Call From Case Worker Today
Recieved a call from the case worker today. He wanted to know if I sent out the paper work they sent to me. I had more than a week ago to London KY. Then he started asking me question regarding pain and depression, which I answered. I told him that my arthritis is what is crippling. He asked me if I felt I could work if I didn't have the arthritis, I said yes, cause its true. I can work with the asthma and arthritis. I asked him if he had my computer x ray records that show my arthritis, he said no, I asked him if he wanted me to send him another copy to expedite my case. He said I don't think that will be necessary. If we need xrays we will send you to g…

tdiu Ssd And Hours Worked
I see mention every now and again about not having enough hours to qualify for social security disability. I last worked Feb 05 and it is now April 08. I am in the middle of a TDIU claim and haven't even made it to SS yet. Should I be concerned about a ticking clock on the other side of the government feud for benefits? This may be a duh question but my mind only works so fast and VA has it spinning already. This site is giving me an anchor, so any suggestions, warnings appreciated.

ptsd Which Should I File First?
I was recently awarded 50% SC for PTSD. I has been getting 20% SC for an eye injury that I suffered in the Marine Corps. I was hoping that I would get a combined total of at least 70% so I could apply for IU, but VA math says 50 plus 20 equals only 60 so it put me right under where I wanted to be. I also suffer from depression and anxiety as a result of PTSD that keeps me from holding a job effectively. The VA diagnosed me with these at the same time as the PTSD last year. The DAV rep told me that it would be best to go for the PTSD and get approved for that and then go for the secondary conditions. My question is this: Should I just appeal the decision for the PTSD for…

tdiu Lack Earned Income For Ss Benefits
I lack $4000 in earnings to get Social Security retirement and medicare. I have not worked since 2005 because of a VA service connected disability, I occasionally, answering phone calls for my wife who is self employed with a home based business. According to the recent tax law change, if I work 100 hours in my wife's business then I can claim a percentage of her business, I was thinking maybe I could do this for one year, 2007. Enough percentage to get say $5000 in income, pay social security tax on it. Then I would be eligible for Social security benefits. I did call to get a price for Medicare insurance and was quoted $450 per month in todays dollars. Af…

Ssa/medicaid Insurance
Hello Folks, question for those knowledgable in this area....Medicaid being offered[welfare insurance] too me. As i am covered by the VHAMC, Bay Pines,Fla. i have declined this coverage. However, could i use this to obtain an outside exam[imo], once i found a doctor to accept this form of payment?? As there is alot of emphasis, on how important it is too obtain good solid medical evidence, IMO,etc;I was thinking this may be an avenue for those like myself who don't have the upfront money to pay for an independent medical opinion. I am in the process currently of obtaining the psyc. and medical exam results, that the SSA sent me for, though i was thinking, maybe this is an …

Ssd Review
I was awarded VA 100% in 1998 and SSI at the same time and in 2001 received PNT status from the VA. I Just received my third review letter from SSA and in the 2 year period in question I tried to back to work and did so for 2 1/2 months until I was fired. My service connected disabilty of Bi-Polar really was in full manic phase there and I went against all my doctors warnings that I could not work. What I am asking is on that form they send you it asks have you worked in the last 2 years and I had to check the block yes and the amount was above the poverty level am I covered under there nine month back to work trial?
