diabetes Recent C & P For Ao Diabetes Type 2
After my Vet had filed a claim AO/IHD, he was diagnosed with diabetes type 2. We were new to all of the stuff with dealing with the VA, so just let that claim go ahead in order not to muddy the waters and figured we'd deal with that down the road at some point. When they awarded him 60% for IHD, VA noted his diagnosis of diabetes type 2 in subsequent medical records they requested and advised him to gather the appropriate records and file for diabetes type 2. Couldn't have been more surprised to have them suggest that! Anyway, we took the info to his VSO and he filed the paperwork for us and he rather quickly got an appt. for a C & P. The doc was an external …

C&p Exam Favorable?
Thanks for all yur help.... My husband was diagnosed by the air force with adjustment disorder with depressed mood and avoidant personality traits in 1993 after a sudden character change ( got arrested twice, art 15, violent behavior, problems at work)...He got out on a voluntary separation, honorably. with 6 months of separation he became schizophrenic, he refused treatment and denied any problem...lack of insight and judgement is a typical symptom of schizophrenia, and with the mental health laws in place, he could not be forced into treatment or meds. In 2006 i was able to stage a intervention and get him into treatment and on meds at a county clinic...in 2007…

So Called "brain" C&p - What Next
was finally correctly dx'd with MS and was SC'd for it last june though didn't get the letter til sept 2010. in jan 2011, pva requested a C & P for secondary issues. however, i was sent to a VA doctor where the ratings people had asked him to complete the C&P from jun 2010, saying it wasn't complete. that is the secondary issues i guess. they called this C&P in jan 2011 a "brain" C&P. we only talked. that is, no real tests. just talk about ms and its symptoms. when i left he said, "your 100% disabled and can't work. i'll try my best to get the rater to see that". he said with MS, there are just too many issues secondary for him to consider and that th…

Right Trapezius Strain And Right Shoulder Condition
I was sent for a comp and pen exam as part of an BVA remand. The judge had stated that all of the evidence on record was in my favor but wanted a more current diagonosis and and the relationship to the service. I'm still awaiting a decision but, I have a copy of the exam report, here is some of what is in the report. What exams did he use and what codes would be used to rate trapezius strain and a rotator cuff strain and impingement syndrome of the right shoulder? Any thoughts on possile sc % if any? Some exam results are; right shoulder condition-Range of motion right shoulder in degrees. flexion 0 to 135, abduction 0 to 134, internal and external rotation 0…

Quick Start Not So Quick!
I was Medically retired at 70% Oct. 2010, my Quick Start Claim was sent to Winston-Salem in August when I left on Terminal leave, I still do not have anything from the VA although I did sign up for Medical and had to call my VFW rep to get my Claim started on in Feb. 2011. He said that my Claim was sitting on a desk and had not been touched, within a week I had a C&P appointment scheduled- I was in a Car accident on post and recieved a TBI, seizures, Migraines, Cognitive Issues and I am Totally Disabled By Social Security with a paper review in 7 years with limited chance of recovery. I never thought it would take this long and when I was talking with the VA rep at C…

Favorable C&p
I had a C&P exam on March 17. In April I got a call from the VARO asking for more info on my wife and Son. They guy told me I was approved at 100% and my wife and Son would get chapter35 education benefits. I picked up my C&P this wk. the doc said it was as least as likely my current condition was service connected to my current disability. I wish they would hurry up so I could get on with my life. Why does this take so long? I waited 2.5yrs for SSDI. I want to move before my Son starts school. I noticed the C&P had to be approved by someone else. Funny thing is a doctor wrote the report and a RN nurse approved the report. Nothing against nurses but who has m…

ptsd C&p Exam For Ptsd
I had a C&P exam in May for PTSD. Prior to that I have been seeing the VA mental health for almost a year for PTSD. They diagnosed me with PTSD. At the C&P in May, the psychologist stated that I did not meet the criteria for a PTSD diagnosis, but did have anxiety and depression. The report states that I do have symptoms associated with PTSD, but DO NOT meet the DSM IV criteria for PTSD. He stated that the anxiety and depression are MORE LIKELY THAN NOT related to military service. he stated combat service-Yes. I have no axis II diagnosis, and a GAF of 51. What are my next steps, if any? Am I screwed, since the claim was for PTSD, not anxiety and depression?

Why No C&p Exam
Applied for Gulf War Illness ad recieved no C&P exam. Can anyone make sence of this? I was told by the phone people that I didn't need one and that the raters have all the information from my records that they need and that they can make a decision from that alone. Is this a common practice or what?

Scar Exam
C&p examiner asked if my scar was painful/tender. I tell him that I can't wear a belt because it hurts and regular fitting clothes irritate the scar and make it painful. C&p examiner says it doesn't hurt in exam. I appealed the decision, but it is his word against mine. Any suggestions
