DBQ Differs from VA Treatment Records
I am looking for a little advice on how to proceed with my current claim. After several years of TBI treatment with the local VA hospital, I filed for a TBI claim. I am still awaiting the decision but just received my C-File that I requested a few months ago. From what I can tell, my DBQ DR did a horrible job and I am going to get underrated when the final decision comes. I was in and out within 25 minutes and no testing was performed. Once I told the DR that I had already done Neuropsych testing with the VA hospital the exam ended shortly after. When viewing my C-File and the record of the TBI DBQ exam I noticed that the DR service connected my TBI but didn't accur…

90% , need advice to get to 100%
Any advice will be appreciated. Here is what I have: 70% PTSD with panic attacks 50% sleep apena 30% IBS 30% migraine including migraine variants (also claimed as headaches), residuals of traumatic brain injury. ( the professional thing re: a migraine rating is that.....going into the BVA process, i did not have a migraine rating. I did have a 10% TBI rating. The law judge found the migraine diagnosis in my reccords, ordered another TBI eval, and once the eval was done, my 10% TBI was changed to 30% migraine. I need to get to 100% P & T. The route i want to take is get my 30% migraine up to a 50% migraine. I know the elements t…

Neuro exam from VA
I just took a neuro exam and the Dr. Said it was invalid due to low test scores. I have memory issues, ptsd, and was involved in a dismounted ied which rattled me. Physician stated there was no way the blast could cause a mild tbi and concluded my test scored were invalid, what does this mean.

Historical TBI eval (not a C&P!)
I thought this might interest you, for those of you familiar with my history of posts and claims questions. Short note - this was the TBI eval I had done a few years ago - before I was denied in part for not having a "conclusive diagnosis" for TBI. --- Might this be why I never had a C&P ordered for me? Certain portions have been redacted for privacy, and to remove some "No" answers to shorten the read or when information doesn't contribute to the claim. Thoughts??? 4 How many serious OEF/OIF deployment related injuries have occurred? One 6 Did you lose consciousness immediately after any of these experiences? Yes, one episode 6-A If yes, est…

Can’t seperate the two intertwined my ass
Va hospital records them seperately but disability says they can’t, even after their C and P doctor differentiated the two issues and also put a percent of what each were contributing to my dust issues with my TBI 100 and PTSD 30. Also said my ptsd was caused prior to my sTBI but somehow it’s still listed as a symptom of my sTBI. I understand the pyramiding issue with tbis but say I have a new issue caused by my PTSD say the stress may have contributed or caused my psoriasis but can the doctor say that this could be the cause at my C and P and be denied as it’s never been rated separately but a symptom? I have a feeling they will just lump it together with my scars disfi…

TBI and Pyramiding
I had a fall in the military that resulted in a C2 cervical spinal fracture. Years later, after complaining of headaches for 30 years, an MRI showed that the C2 dens is still broken and flexes a bit too much. I have a rating for headaches and tinnitus, and in the process of the evaluation for my vertigo a brain lesion was found on my temporal lobe near my sinuses that looks like trauma damage. The lesion hasn't been seen before because this is one of the first MRIs that I've done with a contrast. The neurologists think this is related to the C2 fracture nonunion as the vertigo has been a constant element for 30 years also. It's still in evaluation. But, if they pin …

ptsd Tbi And Hypopituitarism ( Pituitary Gland And Hormone Dysfunction )
The most common hormonal deficiencies associated with TBI include: Pituitary deficiencies (TSH/FSH/GH/IGF-1) Gonadotropin deficiencies (LH/FSH/testosterone/estradiol) Adrenocorticotropic hormone, thyroid deficiency and prolactin deficiencies are also seen among patients with neuroendocrine involvement following TBI Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (acquired): pituitary-hypothalamic injury from trauma. These men have low testosterone serum concentrations but have gonadotropins in the normal or low range. Suggest Neuroendocrine Dysfunction Screening ( NED ) for FSH, See links at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15879352 http://www.brainline.org/conte…

>For member jfrei (SMC-t)
jfrei Just wanted to let you know If you have not done so check out the SMC-t Criteria for your TBI w/ residuals As I under stand if you been S.C for TBI & have the Residuals you may qualify for the SMC-t ? and if you do .....>you may want to request it or file a claim for it, I'm not sure how so you may want to check with your VSO. The SMC t is fairly new, but I was searching some of the SMC S to see if veterans qualify's for it when Awarded TDIU w/ P&T AND Their disability is not expected to improve over there life time and they can't leave home for work so in essences this makes him/her Home Bound by reason of there S.C. Disa…

TBI Rating Reduction
Got a letter from the VA. The DECISION reads: "Evaluation of traumatic brain injury with anxiety disorder, not otherwise specified, which is currently 70 percent disabling, is proposed to be decreased to 10 percent." It was originally granted at 70% on 02/01/2013 with an additional 30% added for migraines on 05/02/2018. VA did a Mental Disorders examination on 4/16/2018, a Review Evaluation of Residuals of Traumatic Brain Injury examination on 1/13/2020, and a Mental Disorders examination on 2/25/2020. None of the exams lasted more than an hour, and, according to the letter, these exams have apparently noted some improvement in those conditions. I am not familia…
