Submitting new evidence
I have a claim on appeal and i am considering sending in some new evidence to BVA. According to VETS.GOV my appeal was certified to the board in December 2017 and there is more than 113,00 appeals ahead of mine so i know i have a long wait. I have been checking the status of this appeal on VETS.GOV the past few months and last week a box appeared stating " Decision soon. Submitting new evidence now could delay review of your claim. I don't understand how there could be a decision soon but i am now reluctant to submit anything for fear of causing a delay. Did anyone else see a decision soon message on VETS.GOV? It just showed up for me last week..

Same NOD two decisions
Good day everyone. I’m new to the site, so if this is already answered, please point me in the right direction. If any of you reading this are new have a pending claim...Don’t give up! It’s a long battle but well worth it. I am a retired Navy E-8 with 21 years. I submitted some claims in 2011. Got to 30% and filed additional claims in 2013. I appealed in 2015 and it has taken this long to get my DRO decision and I finally made it to 70% (and of course they used my C&P date of 2017). I received a my award in one packed that was specifically and only for sinuses. I also received a second notification approving my sinus claim, but they said my tinnitus an…

What happens after BVA win?
I don't care about how long, but rather what happens. I read a lot but idk which fits my situation and fellow veterans. For us veterans that have already been receiving VA comp and just won a better backdate; with a lawyer. What comes next?

Ebenefits Appeals Update
So, last Tues. I logged in to ebenefits and saw they had sent me an SOC for my appeal. My appeal then moved to "Your form 9 has been received we are gathering ...to send to BVA". Anyway, I called the 800# where a kind man told me to keep checking ebenefits and wait to go to the DAV as more information on how to proceed should be updated soon. I checked today and it said "APPEAL CLOSED" in my disabilities it showed no changes and the two issues I am appealing "Not service connected", which it has stated since I filed the claim in 4/2015. I decided to check VA.GOV. It shows my appeal is complete and BOTH issues have been granted. However, they are listed und…

Recent VA Appeal
Hi, I'm new here. I just completed my VA appeal in front of the law judge last week. I'm 90% on a service connected back injury, trying to get IU and a new rating for PTSD. The judge seemed to be satisfied with the new evidence on my back injury, but she requested a Nexus letter for the PTSD. Unfortunately my VA psychiatrist left in 2017 so I have an appointment to meet with my VA primary care MD this coming week to see if he will give me at least a Nexus statement stating " more likely than not " that my PTSD is due to my combat history. With so much emphasis being put on this Nexus statement, I also had my neurosurgeon add to his last supporting letter for m…

CURRENT NOD, OVER 1000 DAYS
It took me approximately 10 years after service to come clean with my doc about an MST situation on my first ship. I've been in therapy and take meds for anxiety. I wrote my statement with the assistance of my therapist to not leave out any details....The VA comes back with a denial for MST.....unbelievable! It happened on a Navy ship, but they state it's a personal trauma. What a slap in the face. So I submitted a NOD....in 2016. We are now at 1000 days, and the guy at the VA # suggests using the RAMP program, as traditional appeals can take 3-7 years. Should I take that route with the RAMP? I'm currently 70% due to DDD, bursitis, asthma, & gerd. Recently had…

What are the REAL rules for retroactive pay?
I have been searching all over the internet and there seem to be many conflicting claims. Here's what my situation looks like. I have developed lower back pain while enlisted and got 20% disability pay as they claimed it was due to scoliosis. That was 7 years ago. Since then I have not had a single day without constant back pain. I can't focus on schoolwork because I can't get comfortable. It takes me at least an hour to fall asleep because I keep trying to find a good position. I have been going to the VA and trying to find some kind of treatment periodically for the past 7 years, but all they would ever do is take more x-rays, tell me there's no…

NOD Form Question
Good Evening. I have a question about the NOD form. It asks what percentage I feel each item should be rated at? How is the best way to handle that? I have a copy of the rating DC table but it is somewhat confusing. I read on one VA lawyer's website that you should shoot for the sky and just put down 100% and then let the VA lower it. That way you don't short change yourself. What do you all think? Secondly I figure I should get an additional IMO for my knees and lower back. Is a certified physical therapist acceptable for this or should I try and get an Ortho Surgeon for my knees and a Neurosurgeon for my back?

No accreditation
My question is two fold. Does a County Veterans Service Officer/Post Service Officer have to be accredited to prepare a FDC and submit it to an NSO or DSO.? If a Veterans Service Organization or anyone holding a VA Accreditation has knowledge of individuals such as above assisting in the preparation of a claim for benefits, do they have a duty to report that violation? Thank you

Need Advise on VSO to Assist with NOD
Hello all. I need to file a NOD on my claim decision. My current VSO (Virginia Veterans Services Office) seems less than enthusiastic. She is definitely not proactive. I had to nudge every step of the way on filing my claim. I have seen articles on the internet stating I should get a very knowledgeable VSO to help me with the NOD and that it should be very detailed on what I disagree with. Then there are other articles that say not to go into the actual details of why I disagree and to just say I disagree with the decision and want to appeal. So I have two questions. 1. I'm here in Northern VA up by D.C. and need some recommendations on accredited VSO's that can…
