Vso,no,va Rep.
Hello everyone, I am new and was trying to find out the difference between the three different reps. National Officer, Veterans Service Officer, of Veterans Representative. Is there a difference? Do you think having one work on your claim is a good thing? Which on is the best out of the three? I hope this makes sense, but I am new and do not know which one to choose and if any? Thanks

I Have A Question?
I am new to this web site I stumbled upon this site by accident this am and have been reading since I'm exstatic that such a sit exists. I've learned more today than ever about c&p, thanks to all of you for the info. I have many questions but will start with this one. In 1989 or 1990 I filed a claim for ankles, knees, and neck pain. I never received any examination, xrays or anything. Several months later I received a letter denying my claim for " no documentation in my UHR to support the stated claim". I was in the 82nd airborne for 4yrs and made 43 jumps, mind you. In Sep. 08 I had routine surgery on my left ankle because I developed a limp in the morning w…

ptsd Notice Of Disagreement
I have an appeal pending with the DRO. Depression secondary to Service Connected knees disability. Although the C&P doctor stated my knee disability exacerbates my major depression, I was still denied. Since then I have supplied a copy of my psych evaluation from when I was on SSDI stating pain caused my major depression. Since I filed a NOD for major depression I have been rated service connected for hearing loss 0% and 10% for tinnitus. I just had a PTSD test evaluation, although the doctor that administered the test stated I didn't me the qualification for PTSD I found an old military medical record where I was sent to the doctor after being physical assaulted. The…

tdiu Dro Award?
I received a written statement of case from my DRO appeal, dated March 12,2009.It stated that my service connected knees, rated at 60%,were left at 60%.It went on to state that "we have granted part of your appeal",but did not specify what was granted, saying "an award letter would be sent soon". As of May 24th still nothing in writing.I went to my state veterans assistance office and they looked my case up on their computor and said it showed that I had been awarded new rating for back, hips and TDIU. I also called the 800 number who confirmed and said that my case was now back at regional office to be calculated, signed off on.I guess I am just paranoid that something will g…

ptsd 100% Sc And Smc For Vets With Alzheimer's
My father has been considered 100% service connected disabled since 2002 due to PTSD 50%disabiling) and a severe injury to one of his arms (50% , 30% and 10% disabling for various reasons) during WWII. He recently moved into a secure (private) facility for persons with Alzheimer's disease. He has assets in excess of $80,000. His physician has certified that he appears to suffer from Alzheimer's disease and requires assistance with daily living. Is he eligible for Aid and Attendance/Housebound benefits, or are these benefits given only to veterans that meet certain income thresholds? Are there any other monetary benefits that he might qualify for, in this circumstance?…

Hello I'm trying to help a veteran with VA claim paperwork. He was a pilot back in the 70's and lost his flying status because of "untrackable air sickness" He left the Air Force at that point. Short story.....he was dieagnosed with meniere's in the 90's. I would like to "prove" that the air sickness was the early onset of meniere's Is there any information on this. Question Regarding Nod Mentality
Hello, I have viewed your site for a long time, finally became a member so i could post. Quick overview of myself, I am 25, medically retired army, for a dx of Multiple Sclerosis. After discharge I was rated at 60%, I sent an a NOD for an increase on the muscle weakness claims of the upper and lower extremities due to the fact I feel as if I am at a quarter of the strength I was before my first exaserbation(sp). I also was not rated for fatigue due to ms, and Irritable Bowel associated with MS even after being DX while on active duty. So I sent in those claims along with the request for a higher percentage for muscle claims. I received a fast response and had a C&am…

Dro Decision
Just a curious question. How long does it take to get an answer from the DRO regarding a NOD I filed in Dec. 08, my VSO says at least a year. Is this true. The claim is for cervicalgia which was increased to 10% May 23,08. No regard for arthritis, DDD/DJD/worsening pain. Thank you, Bergie

Joint Replacement Foot
Hi, I have a question. Retired in Aug 2007 and in Feb of 2007 had a joint replacement in my left foot (big toe joint). Searched the documentation and found ratings for hip/knee/ankle and shoulder replacements. This was my 4th surgery on that foot and I just received my rating of 10%. Really????? Based on the fact that I have ROM in that joint. Didn't take into account pain etc. What should I do? Karen

Ao Outside
(not including Korean vets who have gained AO comp) I mentioned at VA WAtchdog I would post this list here again-I disagree with Larry's post today there-and I suggest anyone involved in the AO proposed new regs keep track of this legislation and the comments at Larry's site-this is from older post and I believe they awarded AO to a Jphnston Atoll vet as well and there are probably more outside of Nam awards at the BVA since I last searched for them.
