ptsd Appealing Old Claim
So 18 months ago i filled for ptsd, ddd, knee problems and tinitus: granted 10% for tinnitus, 50% ptsd the knees and back were denied, due to my smr being destroyed in iraq. i had my primary care dr write a letter regarding my back issues as he has been my family dr since 2000. so i submitted an appeal for the back and an increase for the ptsd as it certianly has gotten worse or i was low balled to begin with. received the letter stating it was received as well as they received the birth certificates for my 2 children. so we shall see what comes of it. do you think they will ask me to come back in for evaul with ro? matt

Varicose Veins
Hello I have 22 years in the military and retired in 2003. I was recalled back to active duty on 2006 and was turned down for service due to having varicose veins. This condition has been noted on my military health records during my time in service. Per the MEPS doctor this condition is a NON waverable, so to make it short no more active duty for me. I then proceded to file a service conected claim for this condition. I sent the VA everything they had requested to include my MEPS physicals stating the reason for not being able to go back on active duty and a copy of my recall letter from DOD. I'm working with a VRO as well to help me in filing this claim. in short I have…

Withdraw Nod For Dro Hearing
I filed a NOD and requested a DRO hearing through the WACO regional office... it was for a 0% for irritable colon. The C&P service connected and diagnosed IBS. I'm assuming that I got zero because I only sought treatment on a few occassions even though my symptoms are moderate to severe. There's not much they can do for you. Since, I have been treated several times in attempt to show proof that my symptoms occur more frequently and are worse then the orginal picture painted. My primary care physican has describe my IBS as Severe, but he was a General practicioner. I am working with a new Gastrologist since I moved, he has stated diharea with abdominal pain but w…

hypertension Upcoming Traveling Bva Appeal
Hi Gang, I sure could use some advice as I am still pretty new at this and, so far, have done everything on my own w/o help from any of the agencies like VFW/DAV with the exception of the great advice I have received from our forum. Here's my question. I submitted my initial claim Feb 06, and was awarded 80% disability Apr 07 ( PTSD 70%, DMII 10%, Neck 10%, back 10%) I wrote back appealing the DMII as well as Neuropathy of both legs, tinninitus and hypertension. I won the following increases: DMII 20%, Tinninitus 10% and neuropathy 10% in both legs for a total of 90%. I lost the appeal on increases for the back and neck as well as the hypertension. Bottom …

Following Remand Terms Required?
Hello Vets! I had a C & P exam in 2004 after filing for SC for a back injury which required one surgery while in service in 1996, and 3 more since they determined I wasn't worldwide qualified and I was honorably discharged. The remand states that my previous exam was done without the VA Dr. having reviewed my file, so one of actions they required is another exam. Of course I also got the letter requesting any info not currently in my file. Since 2 of my back surgeries were since my original claim was filed, I know they don't have this info. When I got my IMO to submitt, I faxed it to my VSO at DAV to see if he thought it was ok before I submitted all the ot…

ptsd Ptsd Help
I have put in a claim for PTSD. I had sex with a woman but later found out she used to be a man. This all happened while I was in service. What are the chances of getting PTSD S/C? Since this incident I have had vivid nightmares, screaming in my sleep, and flashes of the person that deceived me. All these I contribute to this incident and now see a psych for this. He even said that my behaviors dramatically changed after this incident. During service I tried to get help but my superior just laughed at me and didn't refer me to anyone. I guess he thought I was joking..... JK
