  1. You can just talk to your Voc Rehab counselor and that should be an easy fix.
  2. I was thinking about filing a claim based on weight gain from my psych meds.
  3. You will have to be 100% to eligible for champVA for spouse and children. You can appeal your rating if you believe it to be low based on symptoms and medical evidence. Congrats on your win; good luck should you decide to appeal. /doc
  4. I can tell you from experience that the VA won't even consider TDIU if you are working. You must be considered unemployable by definition. Others will chime in but it is my opinion that you must not be working. You have a tough choice to make I know I've been there. Good luck /doc
  5. I agree Pete that's why I'm switching docs, my last visit I felt like I poured my heart out and all I got when I got a copy of the note was a medication update.
  6. Mine was flagged after I was inpatient for awhile.
  7. I am a total mess these days and I would not think of not continuing my VA appts. 30% ejection fraction wow, mine is in the 60's just had a pacer put in two weeks ago since I have pauses one while I was in the hospital lasted 12 seconds. Right now, I'm trying to find the right coctail that will allow me to get up and start doing things again, currently the only time I get out of the house is when I have a doctors appt.
  8. I think you should start with a request for increased rating for depression, based on the info you have provided here. Good luck /doc
  9. I figured I'd wait and see what the outcome of my SSD claim would be before I try to get an IMO, besides I'm already IU so don't think I need and IMO at this point, just a doc to say I'm permanent in nature as far as depression goes. I'm worried the VA is looking for a doc that will drop my rating from IU to something less.
  10. I don't have the money for the IMO, but I have applied for SSD and once I get that (fingers crossed and with many prayers), I will be able to see outside doc's.
  11. No was granted TDIU based on my VA records and the two other CP's I had luckily they were from the same doc, I'm thinking that now they will send me to a different doc to get the answer they want which is I'm not unemployable and or not depressed.
  12. I do have an appt with a new psychiatrist in June, we'll see.
  13. I did file an appeal for P&T when I got the TDIU. I can't help but feel stressed now that I have to go to another C&P, I was seeing a regular psychiatrist whom I had not seen for over a year, just his nurse practitioner who I saw every few months along with a therapist who I see every couple of months.
  14. I was given a 70% rating for depression back in Feb 09 with a future exam in Aug of '11. Today I get a call from QTC saying they are setting me up an appointment for reevaluation of my depression. If anything my depression has gotten worse since the last C&P, I have been inpatient two months ago for five days, my meds are not working and I'm in the process of changing psych doc's. Why would the VA schedule me a new C&P so soon and are they going to jerk me around like this since I'm TDIU for the next 20 years. Did I mention that I just received a Pacemaker as well; and I'm supposed to be better?
  15. I have a C-PAP with a humidifier it was set at 15. I am a stomach sleeper so it was hard getting used to, but it stays on through the night. Good luck with yours.
  16. They actually do pay for dependents its like 20 dollars or so I think. I was in vocrehab and received 842 w/o dependents and 872 with.
  17. Carlie thats exactly how I feel, going across the street wears me out. I am always light headed and feel as though I'm about to pass out. Thats with the pacemaker now. thanks for the reply.
  18. I was told my ejection fraction was 65 does anyone know what this means. Thanks
  19. name='hedgey' date='May 11 2010, 08:57 AM' post='200409'] navydoc, thanks for your reply, especially when you have other things on your mind! I'm wishing all the best for you - it'll be alright (it always make me feel better when someone tells me that). And FWIW, I think this will only help your SSD appeal. And did you file a NOD about the denial re: high blood pressure? It's a known medical fact that depression can cause it, there are surely a number of medical journal articles you could point to. Or maybe it would be worth it to pass it over to an attorney. Let someone else take the stress from you. I once read an interview with Bill Gates where he said one of the secrets to happy success was knowing when to pay someone else to do something for you. Please remember that all my advice comes from a person whose life is messed up! As for my problem, it's the part of the application where they ask if your disabilities are in any way due to work. I assume that the answer is yes, because they all stem from my time in the army. The next question is if and how much you have received from your employer ... I figured up all the money I've received in VA disability compensation at 10% and entered that. The next question is the stumper... They want to know how much I expect to receive in the future. I just don't know how to answer that question. How do I know? The VA could raise my rating (claim in progress), they could take it away (seen it happen!), I could die tomorrow, Congress could decide to make changes to compensation rules... Maybe I'm just making a mountain out of a mole hill, which would be one of my chronic problems, though I don't know the clinical term for it. Thanks again, navydoc2, and best of luck!! Thanks for your support hedgey. Let me tell you we are all "messed up" lol. Now with regard to your question. I think that this is talking more about workman's comp. You are right to put down your VA percentage and you can put down the dollar amount in monthly terms. I hope this helps and makes it at least as clear as mud. Good Luck /doc
  20. Thanks Berta, no I was not Vietnam Vet. I was active during shield/storm; but saw combat in Somalia. I am IU from the VA so this may or may not help with SSD which I'm on appeal at the moment with the first time being denied. Thanks again. /doc
  21. I'm not sure I understand the question, but its good to see you are filling out the paperwork :) good for you and good luck. /doc
