Help? Trying To Figure Out Right Page To Post This / Va Withholding From My Disability Pmts 1 2

Greetings, I may well be on the wrong page for this question but here it is: The VA has been withholding from my benefits for "medical procedures and medications" This has amounted to over $1500 in the past 17 months. I got a letter the other day and I got no help at all when I called the number, basically telling me the VA claims I owe it so it will result in more withholdings from my benefits. I currently just had an appeal hearing for 100% disability due to medical malpractice at the Houston VAMC where a student physician with a suspended license severed my larygeal and phrenic nerve during a misdiagnosed (experimental) sub-clavian bypass graft. I have not r…

I have noticed in the past when I was away from home where my Latitude pacer monitor was located that after a week away nobody noticed that it was not reporting. This week after 4 days away I noticed it was not on and not reporting. Nobody apparently noticed. Just wondering?

OIG warned about Tomah opiates In part: "WASHINGTON — Outside pharmacists warned investigators at the Department of Veterans Affairs as early as 2012 that health care providers at the VA Medical Center in Tomah were dispensing excessive amounts of opiates to veterans, and one warned they were so high that the Drug Enforcement Administration could revoke the center's license to dispense controlled substances. But the investigators from the VA inspector general's office — who had solicited the pharmacists' independent opinions — did not include those warnings in their report on the investigation in March 2014. And despite the warnings, they trusted local and regional …

I went to my VA Doc last week, I been feeling more depressed and she did diagnose me with MDD About 6 months ago, well last week I went to my 6 month check up and I mention to her the meds she put me on don't seem to be helping, so she change my meds for this. I also mention to her that I had been feeling very tried and fatigue during the day no energy what so ever and no hard work or moving around to cause me to be this tired, and my bones hurt and ache all over like when you have a bad case of the flu. The vist with the Doc went good I guess but now she set me up appointment for the pain clinic just because I mention to her I ache all over like flu like symptom's but …

Just a reminder to the younger veterans & the older ones too >. go get a Colonoscopy test, don't wait until its to late, you never know what's happening with your insides, get your VA Doc to order the test, if they don't do them at your VAMC they will order outside private care to do it. the test is very simply and no pain so please don't wait until you get older or until your over 50. I use to think it was a horrible test but its not, the only dreaded part is the night before you go to your appointment you have to drink a eight ounce glass 1'/2 Gal of this solution every 15 minutes until its all gone (it cleans you out) Its just something we never …

The Tampa VA is trying hard to find some reason to break my opiate contract and cut me off from the opiates they have constantly prescribed for me for the last ten years. None of my other VA doctors are standing up for me. My VA shrink prescribes clonazepam for me and she is saying if I want to continue getting the opiates I have to get off the benzo's. My PCP started all this because I have sleep apnea. I know that some vets have died from Od'ing on opiates, but I have been taking them safely for ten years. No matter, I am now a drug abuser according to the VA (no evidence required except I take prescribed opiates). I have talked to patient advocate...worthless. …

Well my VA PCP is changing me from Gabapentin 3600mg per day to this topiramate stuff. I read everywhere online and here on hadit about its side effects. Since starting Gabapentin I've gained weight big time and had lots of memory loss. I hope I don't get all the weird side effects of topiramate but hope I do get the weight loss side effect. He wants to change some medications up with me because of the effects of other medications plus at my request I want to come down off of the opioids that I hate very, very, very much. All that stuff is doing to me is causing me to become a hermit in my bedroom. I'm going to end up dying from under activity with blood clots in my l…

The VA says it is nobody's fault but mine that I have become dependent on opiates after the VA prescribed them for me for 9 years. Suddenly, they have discovered that I have sleep apnea. When I say suddenly I mean about five years ago. Now they tell me the narcotics they have been prescribing for me all these years are a risk to my health.....duh. The pain doctor prescribes methadone and oxycodone. The VA shrink prescribes clonazepam. The sleep doctor says all these drugs are bad for me and my apnea. It is nobody's fault but mine. The say my problem is opiate dependence. I must have gotten the drugs on the street I guess even if the VA prescribed them for me for…

Hi fellow Veterans; I am going to have surgery on my ankle/foot/toe and my Podiatrist can't do the procedure until October. I am considering waiting b/c he is my Podiatrist but he did indicated that I can go outside the VA with the new "Fee Basis Program". How does this work? Do I get to pick the doctor? Is this a good idea to have my surgery with a doctor who has never seen me before? Thanks for the help! Steph
