Hi, I am looking for soldiers currently on active duty that have attended a treatment facility, specifically for sex addiction. I know tricare will send a soldier if referred through BH. My question is how did it affect your career? I am extremely cautious about seeking treatment through the military. I have a had a very successful career, but I fear if I sought treatment and help it could potentially damage my career.

What's up bros? I wanted to asked you guys a question. I rated 100% and for the past 7-8 years I've been abusing opiates on and off. The reason I start using opiates was because of pain lower back, knee, shoulder, and server migraine head aches and whenever I'd go to the Dr. they would prescribe me some bull shit like Tylanol 3 for knee surgery and Napersin or some garbage for migraines that was a freaking joke to put lightly I still get angry and my heart races every time I think of the Dr. that gave me that shit for migraines pure hell called 911 after leaving the VA and got took to a real hospital where they gave me shots and real medicine anyway. I wanted to kno…

The VAMC's are doing routine Aorta Ultra sound testing now for free. This is a test that would probably cost you a pretty penny if you had it on the outside. I went and got one a few days ago. Now I wonder if the VA is giving the Calcium Scoring heart test. This is a test to see how much your heart arteries are calcified. It beats a stent. The test costs about $300-400 bucks and a stent costs about $30,000. You get the same result in ten years. John

Taking Temazepem 30mg at night for sleep. Been on it for a year. I want to come off it. Has anyone successfully tapered down and if so, can you share how you did it? Also, how did it affect your family while you were tapering? Thank you.

Sleep Apnea? 1 2 3

Do you have to ask your VA PCP about sleep apnea to request a c-pap machine? or does the VA pcp put in for a sleep study and then make the DX to S.A. to get the cpap machine? I can't sleep well and snore bad toss & turn? meds like melatonin don't help I take MH meds for MDD and other meds for pernicious anemia. I am dead dog tired all the time and feeling flat out fatigued...for no reason? I'm thinking its because I don't sleep much. I have an appointment with my VA pcp on the 3rd of June next month. Any advice is appreciated. ................Buck

NSAIDS FDA update "FDA Drug Safety Communication: FDA strengthens warning that non-aspirin nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can cause heart attacks or strokes [ 7-9-2015 ]" http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DrugSafety/ucm451800.htm This was reported on Fox News yesterday as well and the information in that link is VERY concerning. We must know exactly what we are prescribed by VA and make sure meds are not contraindicated by other meds. This AM, forget what thread, I again mentioned how Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) was part of my FTCA case. The VA prescribed this med for my husband to take 4 times a day for 6 years. We believed he had a serious …

I recently had a doctor put in my medical file, "avoid opioids given hx of polysubstance abuse and depression.". This really infuriates me for two reasons: 1) The only opioids I have been prescribed was months ago, for back pain, and have no other pain killers prescribed since 2) He states that I have been abusing multiple substances, due to the fact that I tested positive for THC, months ago, in which at one point when I lived in a MMJ state, I was actually prescribed and had my license. How would I go about getting this removed from my file? I feel as though it's insulting and unfair.
