I have been taking 2 20mg fluoxetines and 2 75mg bupropions every morning for several years now. I have been miserable with a cold for a few days and wanted to get a good nights sleep. For the first time in decades I took a dose of nyquil. This raised my wifes eyebrows so I went to the 'net to check. OMG! Fluoxetine with nyquil is listed as a MAJOR no-no and bupropion as a moderate. The list of dangerous interactions will curl your hair! It includes death! Should I take it easy because everyone has done this before and came out okay...or should I rush to the ER? Gary

I met today with the doctor that does the implant surgery for the Inspire sleep apnea pacemaker. I met the first two indications for the implant surgery: I am not too fat and the CPAP therapy has not worked well for me over time. Now the third indication is the doctor has to knock me out with a surgical anesthetic and look down my throat to see exactly how my apnea is happening. If my airway is completely collapsing in a certain way then the pacemaker won't help me they believe. If my airway is only partially collapsing they it will help. It is just something to do with the actual mechanics of my OSA. This part I did not know about until I consulted with the doctor …

I take 3200 mg of Gabapentin per day. It appears its just not working. I have an appointment with Pain Management next week and I am going to request that they give me Lyrica which I have taken some time ago for shingles and it helped. Will they give me Lyrica if I tell them the Gabapentin just is not working? They know I am pain because I constantly complain on Secure Messages to them. They won't do surgery because they said my condition is complex that surgery will not help but make it worse. What do I do besides telling them my pain level is a 10 all the time. I don't want the opiods unless I have to go that route because I don't want other health problems late…

I am suppose to take 1800 mg per day (600 x 3 times a day) but only take it in the late afternoon early evening so that I can actually work during the day. It make me real loopy and then I get very tired. Just wondering if it has this effect on anyone else?

Hi Everyone, Man I feel like an idiot missing all this information over the last few years on the VA's crackdown on opiates. I was going to an outside provider for pain care until January of this year. I have been on what I call a blind sided suboxone regiment since then. Suboxone actually seems to help some people with mild to moderate chronic pain and the side effects are minimal as far as sedation. Here is why I recommend not switching. They didn't tell me at first but they had to put me in as an opiate addict to get me the script. I was going through withdrawals at the time because they would not connect me back to the VA pain clinic I used to go to or I prob…

Pharmacy canceled my anti-depressant prescription I ended up at the ER. I went to psych doc on Tues got my refill for my anti-depressant I had been out for a couple of days, because my prescription ran out before my appointment and I didn't think to call the nurse and have it reordered. So the doc reordered it on Tuesday and I though no problem it will be here by Thursday a few days without it but I can handle it. I could have gone to the pharmacy on tuesday and waited to pick it up, but I was already having a major panic attack I had been out at appointments most of the day and told my niece I just needed to get home. So by Saturday still no meds and withdrawal was h…

I ran out of 2 of my meds, one pain and one blood pressure. When I called to see if he would do a new script I was cited the new policy and told he would do neither. I started feeling bad a couple days ago and when I saw my lung specialist at the VA my blood pressure was 158/110. I told her about my doctor saying he would not write either script and she immediately gave me the blood pressure pill. I don't know if it was just to me since I had complained to the patient advocate in the past because the doctor had accused me of selling my drugs on why I was treated this way. The earliest they said that they could get me in was the 14th and that was a week and a half ago. I d…

http://www.hillandponton.com/medical-marijuana-va/?utm_source=1014nl&utm_medium=email&utm_term=va&utm_content=vanl&utm_campaign1014vanl good reading and something you might not know As election season nears, the medical marijuana debate is heating up the State of Florida. Florida is one of several states considering legalization, and my research shows that almost half of the states have already legalized medical marijuana. Because this issue is so controversial and polarizing, it made me wonder whether the VA has addressed the issue at all, and if so, where it stands. I should note that the purpose of this blog is not to endorse or condon…

My PCP, states mild hyperinflation, possible OPD issues, waiting on PFT results.
