Reconsideration
I am expecting a decision by the end of the month per a phone call between myself and my examiner. I will be floored if I am turned down. But the VA has taught me how not to get my hopes up. I have new evidence concerning mental health and heart disease, I have been hospitalized three times in the last month, twice for cardiac, second time I had another heart cath. And I spent ten days in the VA Pysch ward. What are the rules for reconsideration? I have been doing a little research on local attorneys who handle SSA claims and if I have to file for reconsideration I am going to get a attorney to do it. Can anyone give me info on reconsideration and on attorneys?

C&p
Anyone know what the average time is after a C&P to get the decision on a claim? I am scheduled for one and its the last thing in my claim that I have to do. Everything else is finished and I was hoping for a month after or so for it to go through.

Had Alj Hearing ? Lawyer Dont Really Know What To Expect
At my ALJ hearing the Voacationational Expert agreed that I can't do my past job work. The Judge asked a hypothethical ? and he came up 3 possible sit down and low anxiety jobs. My lawyer responded with hypothethical ?s regarding my lack of being able to be supervised and not being able to stand or sit long. The judge immediately responded to my lawyer with what is the Basis of your hypothetical ?s and my lawyer said I am basing this on medical evidence and my client testimony. She allowed the ?s to which the Voc. Expert evenually ruled out all 3 of those jobs. I dont think the Judge wanted to hear that. My lawyer is skeptical and dont really know what to expect saying if…

Denial Stage 1
I have been denied the first stage of my SSD claim. I have an attorney and I am not comfortable with the way she acts. She came off the National SS site. I know I need to appeal in 60 days and when I called because it's half gone her assistant said that I am on the list and they will get back. Can I change the attorney at this stage of the process? Thanks. Terry Sturgis

Question For Friend
A girl friend of mine has appointment next week with SSA as she is 60 years old and also a wdiow. But -she was divorced from her husband before he died. She seems to believe they have already determined she -as his widow -is eligible for SSA retirement benefits. But just by what they said in one brief phone call to give her the appointment. He had a few other wives too. Prior to her- she said they dont get SSA on his record but there is really no way she could be sure of that- I hope she has gotten the right info. Widow but divorced -60 years old- reduced SSA benefit ? Any advise?

ptsd Ssa Is Taking A Lesson From Va
Well we called SSA today to see what was happening on my husbands SSDI application. It's been 7 months since he applied for SSDI. Two months ago they sent him to a SS mental exam and 4 weeks ago he had a physical exam with the SSA internist. The SS mental shrink diagnosed him with chronic PTSD and major depressive disorder moderate, psychosocial stressors severe. Gave him a GAF for the past year at 65, and a current GAF at 55. When the doctor was at the end of the medical exam, the internist said to my husband, "you're not able to work". The staff at the doctors office said the report would be in to SSA within 10 days. We are trying to get a copy of the report fro…

ptsd Ssdi Turndown At Alj Level?
'Just wondering, I'm 100% P&T for PTSD and have been turned down twice for soc sec disability. Both times they said I didn't have enough work credits but I appealed and waited 14 months for hearing before ALJ. Had my hearing two weeks ago and the ALJ said that my work credits problem was resolved in my favor------ so now my question ---- has anyone who is otherwise eligible for ssdi been turned down with a ptsd diagnosis that has been made by several doctors. Has anyone ever heard of anyone not winning award at ALJ for ptsd. My lawyer said we did good at the hearing but my ptsd anxiety won't allow me to relax waiting for the decision. Everyone please answer
