Social Security Military Members After 2001.
http://' target="_blank"> How do I get Social Security credit for my military service? Question How do I get Social Security credit for my military service? Answer Earnings for active duty military service or active duty training have been covered under Social Security since 1957. Social Security has covered inactive duty service in the armed forces reserves (such as weekend drills) since 1988. If you served in the military before 1957, you did not pay Social Security taxes, but we gave you special credit for some of your service. I was after 2 1/2 years granted SSD last Sept. well even though i told them many many times my address they mailed my retro check to an old address and it sat there for months.. Well i finally got it in March about 1 week ago... my questions first do i claim it as 2006 when it was sent or 2007 when it was received? Second question on the back is a little test to see if you will owe taxes .. My lump sum minus the lawyers fee and medicare B was lower then i expected as they did not pay me for the children yet.. so i took the little test and added my SSD check and then it says divide in half etc etc and in the end it says if its lower then 25.000 and your single you pay NO …

Back Pay And Paying Taxes
I have received over $40k in back pay for my self and my dependents. took 38 months to win. anyway my question is this: do I have to pay income tax on the back pay since it amounts to more than $32k? if so, how do they expect us to pay all the bills that accrued while waiting on a decision? so I will have to not spend almost half of the money just to pay them right back. that is not fair.

hypertension Old Problems Become New Again
I'm a newbie on this site - please indulge me. I retired in 1988 and since have been recalled to active duty twice. I got out again in August 06. While on active duty I had a heart attack and stent replacement. Prior to my last recall I was 40% disabled. PTSD (30%), skin condition and Tinnitus (20%). Service connected (Vietnam Radio Operator) I put in a claim via VFW representative in August and still have not heard from VA. In addition to the heart attack I put in a separate claim for Increase for PTSD, Neuropathy, Hypertension, ED, and Cataract. During my latest active duty time I worked in Casualty and Mortuary Affairs, Department of the Army. I am clai…

Just Got Ssdi - So Many Questions
I finally received word that I received a fully favorable report from AJ. I started 36 months ago. funny thing is I had so much proof of my disabilities from combat (100% VA) that when the judge looked at my file he didn't even bother with a hearing. my questions are these: how do I know my wife and kids qualify? she owns a beauty shop, works 3 1/2 days a week and makes $8,000 a year. I have two kids 8 & 12. if so, when will we know? they don't include that in back pay do they? thanks in advance ssgt dotcom

My wife was granted entitlement by the VA for 100% effective Sept 4, 2004, because of her being unable to work due to her service connected disability/disabilities. Her overall or combined rating is 70%. She has been evaluated and diagnosis in 2005 by a Military Neuropsychologist and given a diagnosis of Cognitive Disorder, she is also 50% SC (VA) disable for Major Depressive disorder. She is currently being treated by a civilian psychiatrist who is treating her for the Cognitive disorder and Major Depressive disorder since 2005. I have a copy of the Neuropsychologist report, the VA’s rating letter stating she unable to work, and a letter from her psychiatrist th…
