Appealing A Denial From Ssd
I am in the process of appealing my denial from the SSA, (Gee just noticed what the acronym is backwards...lol) and I was wondering. Has anyone appealed their date of becoming disabled? As I started going through my records. I forgot that when I originally applied in 04 and was denied with a disabled date of 02. When I filed in 05, I only used the 04 date because that was my first surgery date and I couldn't actually find my original documents with the date on them. Now I want to appeal the date too. Is this possible? Thanks, tamara

Ssdi
My husband was notifyed today from SS that he was turned down again. This is round 2. He really gets so tired of fighting, as I'm sure everyone does, but I guess we'll move on to round 3. You would think a note from a cardiologist would be worth the paper it's written on, but I guess not... sbrewer

Initially Approved But Now At Quality Review Board?
I talked to the lady who had been working my initial claim for SSD and she told me a decision had been made. She told me that my claim was approved and I had an effective dat of Nov 05, but it had been picked up by the Quality Review board. It has been with this review board for going on 3 weeks now. She tol me that a certain percentage of cases get picked up for the review board and mine was just one of the picks. My question is, if my claim was processed and initially approved, what are the chances of that being overturned and it denied? Is it common for this to happen with this review board thing? Im also worried about them changing the effective date as the…

Congressional Inquiries
Has anyone file a congressional inquiry with Social Security? Do they feel semi-compelled to get their act together upon such an inquiry - or do they just try to justify your poor treatment? I was thinking of filing one. Well - actually, I have my latest appeal for my son about ready to go - and I was going to follow that up immediately with a discrimination complaint - and CC an attorney and Congressman to put them on notice that someone might be watching - so don't use this as an opportunity to mess with me more. Interstitial Cystitis And Chronic Lung Disease & Ssi
My wife has been being treated for chronic interstitial cystitis, a chronic infection of two different bacteria growing in her lungs, and now fibromyalgia (accompanies the interstitial cystitis) for over one year now. We filed for SSD and she was immediately turned down because the SSA said she would improve within one year. All of her problems are chronic and progressive by defination. So, go figure how SSA decided she would improve. She has not worked since her intital hospitalization in August of 2006. We have hired an attorney and filed an appeal. She is in constant pain, takes all kinds of meds and uses two inhailers daily. She is subject to relapses of lund d…

tdiu Got My Denial Letter...
Gee it only took them 9 months. They just make my head steam!!! I just can't beleive I was denied after all the crap I have gone through. They never even wrote all the medical conditions I wrote in the original application. They also wrote that I could do things frequently that I can't. I have no idea where they got that from. They just must have had their head up their ..... well you know where when they wrote the decision letter. Ok. Now I want to appeal, because they really do have stupid errors, leaving out medical info and infor that I wrote. How do I go about doing this. Can I write them a letter telling them what they forgot and resending them the medic…

ptsd Help
Ok everyone. I applied for I/U in March and was approved in April. I have the following disabilities listed in va. Lumbar and cervical limited motion and disease. PTSD 50% with MDD, bilaternal knee disablities. Scars, limited motion, chronic sinunitis. Anyways I made a claim for SSD with an Attorney to start with. I figure might as well start with an attorney hoping for better results from the start, maybe I can curb the idea of an ALJ. Anyways, went to my exam Monday at 2 at IMA. First I had vitals, then I had psych. All he did was ask me questions like ok see your documents here. Medications here. What year did PTSD start? 2000. What incidents? Vehicular A…

Request A Ssdi Review ?
Hi all: My review was supposed to be last July. I'm going to buy a trailer on a mortgage, but I need proof of income for the mortgage. I need an award letter from SSA to show the mortgage company how long I will receive SSDI payments. Should I go to the SSA office and tell them that I need a review so that a new award letter can be made?? Thank you!

Wife Recieved Her Ssdi
Early this year I wrote to this forum about my wife (Ret AF Officer) that was given 100% unemployable (back to Sep 04)by the VA in Nov 06. In April 2007 we filed for SSDI disability, in addition to the VA compensation rating letter, a Neuropsychological Testing Report, and a letter for her Psychiatrist (that has treated her for 3 years)we submit all the papers and signed the medical release papers. Last Friday (6 Jul 07) Social Security approved her SSDI back to Mar 2006. I truly believe that one of the reasons her request when through the first time was because of the letters and documents we submitted in April 07. These documents clearly described her disability…
