Does IU automatically qualify you for SMC?
Brother was just awarded IU, and has other conditions not associated with the IU that add up to 70%, using hadit.com scale. Will the P&T IU itself meet the requirement for 100% needed to qualify for SMC? Allan 2-2-0 HUAH!

Was told I should not have been given a copy of my ruling?
OK folks, wasn't sure if this is the right Forum for this question/incident, but it is an Entitlement(I think). Back in January of this year I was awarded, on the spot, P&T IU, as well as an CUE via a RO formal hearing. After months of waiting, waiting...on some kind of paperwork, not to mention a bank deposit, I decided I would go check with the county VA office. The county VA office printed me out a 'preliminary' copy of the award, I gave them a smile, a "thank you" and proceeded to the local car dealer, bought a new car, used the award to exempt myself from property taxes on that car, and drove home a happy camper. ptsd MDD
today I spoked with my DAV person about the low 30% rating I was give. I ask if I should appeal for a much higher rating because of my gaf score of 45, I was informed that the higher rating are for people with PTSD. should I disregard this and appeal anyway.

My experience at the VA clinic today (Question)
Hello all, I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right section. But I wanted to discuss my experience today at my local clinic. First off, I am 100% T&P one of my conditions is right shoulder loss of ROM. I've been dealing with this since I was 19 YOA in the Marines. And have been treated by my VA since My EAS. Now I'm civilian working in law enforcement. While on the job I hurt my shoulder again. Which caused a flare up. I seemed care through my VA and reported it to my employer. 100%TDIU and turning 65 Medicare and VA?
I have been on 100% TDIU for several years, and now I am coming up on age 65. I have a basic employee provided health insurance plan through Aetna from my Teachers Retirement System of Texas. This TRS-CARE1 program has informed me that after age 65, that they will become a "secondary payer". If I understand this correctly, what was once an 80/20 plan (TRS-CARE1) now becomes a 20/80 plan. I have a number of questions/concerns in how that works with VA 100% TDIU Disability. The VA has been billing Aetna (TRS-CARE1) for services I receive from the VA (contracted rate, 80%, etc). What's isn't considered pyramiding
I am rated 100% IU due to my TBI residuals... Secondary Migraines, Dizziness, scars, and Hip pain. I'm still unsure how many more issues I can claim resulting from my TBI accident ? I have about 4 more issues two of them are at the BVA right now dealing with this accident the va doctor told me it shouldn't be considered that because it's another physical injury not related to your head injury but another causality to the incident that's no longer in question..

Can I file a claim even though the issue is not documented in my medical records?
Hello My fellow service members, I was a member of the the 82nd Abn Div years ago. I often complained about my knees since leaving and even filed a claim about it. The claim was denied because there was no proof that the military caused it. I never complained about it then or went to sick call because in my unit, going to sick call was frowned upon (young and dumb). The situation with my knees has gotten worse. Is this a battle worth fighting? If so, what should I do? Thanks!

ptsd Am I Entitled To Smc R2
Hello Everyone, I am Diagnosed with 100% PTSD and Skitzo Effective disorder. I am many other disabilities that require shots including hormonal replacement and a army of medications. I have a full time caregiver and it is documented that she bathes me, I cannot cook my own food, I need help feeding my self, shaving brushing teeth. Also she administers hormone shots to me and gives me many medications every day. Chapter 35 for Foreign School
My son will be attending a school in Hungary that is VA eligible next semester. Chapter 35 pays a "monthly housing allowance" in this case, by semester. Do they stop pay when classes break for a week? He still has to stay in the dorm since he can't just fly home whenever school breaks.

Hello all vets ran across this older vet the other day and he showed me his letter and wasn't sure what this meant and I was not sure so reaching out to gain some knowledge. How To Post
Post a clear title like
‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery” instead of ‘I have a question."
This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”
