Service Connected Disabilities
I was medically discharged in 1991 at 10 or 20 percent disability (sorry I can't remember nor do I have a copy of my medical records). I surgery on the knee and was going to have surgery on both feet but was discharged prior to foot surgery. However, I was receiving treatment for my feet problems. I have had issues with my knee off and on. However, the VA stated that because I was given 10,000.00 when I was discharged that there is nothing they can do. In the meantime I have had a second surgery on the same knee and I strongly believe it is connected to my service connected disability. I also received a waiver at the time of enlistment for having flat feet. The flat feet …

Question about filing claims based on Secondary Conditions due to Service connected surgery
Hello My Fellow Veterans, I have secondary conditions due to surgery. I had (Service Connected) surgery on my right foot. The doctor had me wear a special boot on my right foot for over 6 months, Now my Left knee is in pain from wearing uneven and different shoes and my right knee is in pain from the way I am walking because of the surgery. I am already (SC) for my Left and Right Knees. Can and should I file for (Service Connected) Secondary conditions being aggravated due to conditions caused by the Service Connected surgery? And how should I file for it? Thank You

Requesting Advice an increase for VA Migraine rating
I am 20% (SC) for Migraines. I have Migraines 2 -3 times a week and other problems connected to migraines. The doctor increased my meds for migraines. I went to the ER because of my Migraines. I am now trying to make a case for an increase of my Migraines. My Primary Doctor ordered an appointment to Neurology. I have been waiting for a call from Neurology to make that appointment with Neurology. I never received a call from Neurology, so I finally called Neurology and was told the appointment in July had been canceled. They said I was sent back to my Doctor, to "Evaluate and Treat". I think this is outrageous! No one informed me that my appointment had been canceled an…

Making sense of c n p notes?
So I went to release of records and I got my c n p exam notes . it's States. Based upon direct evaluation and review of the veterans service treatment records DSM-5 diagnosis of other specified trauma or stressor related disorder is provided. The trauma is.....(goes into my specific trauma) this diagnosis is a clarification of the adjustment disorder with mixed anxiety and depressed mood assigned in service My questions is what diagnosis will I be service connected for?/ did the examiner provide the diagnosis for the OSTRD? I know ultimately the raters decide but from the examiners opinion do you think she's implying service connection.

Can you please ballpark my rating?
Hello all! So the long and short of my story is that I have bipolar disorder. My doctor checked 100% service-connected (diathesis-stress theory and all). I can't drive after 7pm and try not to drive after 6:00pm due to medication side effects (clumsiness from Seroquel and confusion from Lamictal). In the last 2 years, I have probably driven after 7pm about 10-15 times. I tried switching to Vraylar and it was gosh-awful. I mean, you know, people here know. The worst... Anyway, I have failed out of school for the last 4 semesters despite being of average smarts. I have lost 2 very good friends due to my manic states (one was my best friend for 8 years, the other was my 2…

severance pay vs disability compensation
Hello Ladies and Gentleman, I am new to the forum but I find it full of useful information. For that, thank you. Now, on to my question. Hopefully, I'm in the right category. I was involuntarily separated honorably due to force reduction 6 months prior to my ETS from Active Duty Army. I was given an option of Full or Half separation pay. To receive full, I had to sign a 3 year contract with the Army Reserves. Of course, I signed and received a nice lump sum even after taxes. I filed for disability and was awarded 80%. I was not allowed to receive payment until the separation pay was recouped. I was very well aware of that. I began attending drill and receiving…

Medial Compartment Osteoarthropathy Claim
Hello, I’m hoping that someone can shed some light on a potential claim for me. I have 10% service-connected disability for my torn ACL ligament, left knee to include pain and 0% for post-surgical scars. During a recent VA appointment, the radiologist noted “X-ray of the Knee : 1. ACL repair in the left knee with medial compartment osteoarthropathy. 2. Normal right knee. Your x-ray results are as above, Knee joint x-ray was normal.” Based on this information, I believe that the codes below would apply at the 10% level for each one. 5003 Arthritis, degenerative (hypertrophic or osteoarthritis): Degenerative arthritis establis…

Why does the VA ignore CFRs & USCs and not held accountable
How can the rating officers make completely false statements, and those overseeing those decisions answer to no one, totally unaccountable to anyone. They are "untouchable", and I no longer believe any of the regulations, UCMJ, or any other regulations. It is the biggest farce ever pulled on veterans, and one form after the other can continue for a lifetime, and sometimes does. I hate to have this attitude, but after what I have seen over the last three years, you realize that things are exactly as they appear to be. When you feel deceived, you are. When a file is missing, it was intentionally removed. When a record can't be found, it was destroyed. You are not imagining …
