Hearing Loss Rated at 0%
So I jumped through all the hoops with the C&P exam and got 10% rating for tinnitus (thanks to you guys on this forum), but my hearing loss was rated at 0%! The determination letter gives me all kinds of numbers: Left ear 84% speech discrimination, dB loss 15 at 500 Hz, 25 at 1000 Hz, 50 at 2000 Hz, 65 at 3000 HZ and 80 at 4000 HZ Right ear 92% speech discrimination, dB loss 15 at 500 Hz, 15 at 1000 Hz, 50 at 2000 Hz, 65 at 3000 HZ and 70 at 4000 HZ The letter says the hearing loss was service-related, but is evaluated at 0%. I assume that means the loss doesn't rise to the level of a disability, which is a big load of BS. I've been dealing with this ever sinc…

diabetes 50 per cent disability
Just a short note to announce that I received my "brown envelope" accompanied by a retro check dating back to May, 2015 and was awarded a 50 per cent disability mainly for diabetes related to AO and lower legs peripheral neuropathy. Also I filed a CUE about two weeks ago with my VSO on a claim that was denied for diabetes in 2011 and due to the currrent claim containing very valuable buddy letters proving I was in vietnam proving this nexus I am awaiting the brown envelope and hopefully will receive a positive decision for diabetes back to 1/11 with a retro check and possibly, just guessing here, a 30 percent disability (combined with an old dib for tinnitus.) Anyway …

Can You Claim Scars?
I saw someone posted that they were awarded 30% for scarring from multiple surgeries. Do you have to claim them specifically or will they note that in the C&P exam and automatically give it to you? I have had two stomach surgeries and two back surgeries all in the same areas.

Can you receive a rating without compensation?
I received my VA package last week. In the letter it showed the breakdown of what was service related and what was not. I have several things that was service related but 0% which I understand is covered medically but I will not receive pay for. I have to service related items that equaled *0%, however my total rating given is 70%. I did not receive anything else in the package about what or when I will start receiving pay. I have called the VA and they have opened an inquiry as to why that was not in there. My question is this... Can they give you a rating of 70% disability but not award you compensation pay? Thank you for your help

diabetes Claim Question Headaches and Neuroapathy
I posted a question in one section for another condition. But I am interested to know another answer for another claimed condition question. My claim would fall under CFR 3.317. I'm already 80% combined. I went to the WRIISC last April and was given a lot of info on my conditions. All was really only to improve my health, and it has. Now I feel my health has improved as much as possible, I am prepared to file a claim and seek compensation for items that aren't getting any better. I have at least 2 types of headaches - Cluster and migraine. They are occupationally debilitating and I take 2 types of medication and have to carry a high flow oxygen tank in my …

ptsd How To Service Connect Sleep Apnea And Other Sleeping Disorders
brothers and sisters in arms. I developed sleep apnea during service and on thing I am having problems with, is to service connected. I served with the 4ID in Iraq and once we returned to Ft.Hood, the Division was moving to Ft.Carson. Everything was so fast. I was put out the Army two months after our return. Everything was so fast that I never got a phase II phisical. The Army made sure I was out, but I didn't make sure I was getting out with the proper evidence. Now I have sleep apnea. Hard to prove with out evidence (like everything with VA) now I also have ptsd and it seems that I will get a rating. My sleep study is on Monday. What proof can I show VA at this point t…

Service Related Asbestos Exposure/granted
The VA service related condition of COPD/Asbestosis due to asbestsos exposure while in the navy with a 0% rating, until after my Pulmonary Breathing Test on 8-27-2014 at the VA medical center in Ann Arbor, MI. They closed my claim and stated that they would evaluate the results of the Pulmonary test to evaluate the extent of my condition. They admit it is service related showing CT findings of focal areas of bilateral pleural thickening and plaques, several of which are associated with coarse calcifications, therefore service connection is warrented. Sounds like greek to me just wondered if anyone had any thoughts or experience with this condition, or what I might expect…
