I had my hearing on OCTOBER 20TH of last year so now it's 8 months. Is there anyone else here from Connecticut and in the same boat? Thanks in advance.

NOD DRO
Hi Everyone, I'm hoping someone can chime in and help with a few points I'm trying to make to the VA. My dad is 100% service connected AO for IHD/CAD (two AMIs). We were fortunate with the CAD part but they denied secondary and thus SMC AA. I retained legal rep for appeal (DRO) for secondary connection as I am, sorry to say, too exhausted to keep fighting the VA labyrinth by myself. For the NOD, two specialists (the same one who did the original DBQs) provided "more likely than not" nexus letters with their vitaes, attached medical reports/findings, but failed to proffer treatises in support of their conclusions. I didn't press the issue of adding treatises to t…

NOD Submission-- Correct Date Help
Vets: This should be a quick answer for someone whom has gone thru the NOD Process. Anyway, I'm working on my first NOD and am confused about some dates that I should be using. Anyway, I received my first claim and there are two dates on the paperwork. One date is the cover later of June 16, 2015 which announces the results. The second letter which is still contained is the same package is the "decision letter" that has the actual decisions. Anyway, Do I use the cover letter or the decision as the key/critical date for the NOD. Because if the decision letter is the one I should using, my one year has already passed? But if the cover letter is the date then I'm still…

Board of Veteran Appeals
Twelve months ago, I filed a form 9 and I have an appeal headed to the BVA for right knee. Recently got an Independent Medical Opinion which is pretty favorable. Can I submit the IMO to the regional office now or should I wait until I'm contacted by the BVA? I don't want my appeal to the BVA delayed if I send in new evidence.

ptsd NOD - Not Always a Good Idea- Maybe a bit Risky?
Vets: Recently, I read where someone filed an NOD and their TBI was reduced from 10% to 0% but they got an increase in their PTSD? So, I'm wondering if this happens a lot where a Vet's claims contentions are actually reduced after their NOD/DRO reviews? I worked very hard to get to 90% that I'm at now. I'm trying to get pushed over to 100% but am concerned about it actually being cut? However, maybe that was just a rare occasion....and I should not be concerned? Does anyone know if this happens very often where a reduction occurs or not? Godspeed Rootbeer22

Finally, it's moving forward, last major update was BVA hearing March 2016
Update: 06-01-16 Pending Decision Approval (I don't know how long ago that was updated on eBenefits, I think I looked maybe less then a couple months ago). ------- Last major update was BVA hearing March 2016 in person hearing ========= I looked on forums to see what that means. I don't want to get my hopes up. I don't want to sound like a drama queen, but the pancreas disease is on the move up into my stomach. I don't know if it was approved, denied, etc. I have a bunch of stuff on appeal, my VSO asked the BVA judge to combine them, the BVA hearing was actually for an 1151 claim, but had 5 outstanding issues. Some issues actua…

NOD Concerning Obstructive Sleep Apnea
I have a NOD pending with the VA. (My claim was denied for not showing up for my C&P exam, I was never notified of my exam). One of the disabilities in this NOD is for Sleep Apnea. While still on active duty, I had a sleep study and was diagnosed with having apneas and hypopneas with heavy snoring. But I was not diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea; I did not quite meet the AHI threshold for OSA. The test was only 4 hours long, as the sleep lab had a power outage and they stopped the test 4 hours into my sleep study. After I retired, I had another sleep study and 1 year and 1 month after I had retired, I was diagnosed with mild obstructive sleep apnea and I had a CP…

ptsd Wrong C&P Exam For My Condition??
Went for a C&P exam for PTSD. I received a decision that I have PTSD...but it wasn't service connected. After the PTSD claim denial, I filed a claim for anxiety and depression.. It was quickly approved at 50% rating ...without another C&P exam for anxiety and depression. The C&P exam was for PTSD and didn't focus on my anxiety and depression. Questions were pertaining to PTSD. My Gaf was 45 prior to the PTSD C&P exam. Not able to hold down a job due to the severity of my depression and anxiety. If I file a NOD, will the VA provide another C&P examination specifically based on ANXIETY and DEPRESSION? …

NOD concerning tinnitus
I have a NOD pending with the VA. One of the disabilities in this NOD is tinnitus. While still on active duty, I was diagnosed with occasional tinnitus. While in the Navy I worked around Aircraft, on flight decks and over 4 years of time serving on ships underway. I was in the hearing conservation program with medical because of working in noise intense areas. After retiring in 2013, I have not seen a doctor for treatment for tinnitus or hearing loss as I now work in a quite environment, and there is no real treatment for tinnitus. I still have the tinnitus. Should I been seen by a doctor to document (for the VA claim) treatment and my continued problems with tinnitus?
