  1. Sounds like the commies have infiltrated your Home Depot
  2. Even with the water reservoir, I still get dry mouth. Worst part is having TMJ and wearing the mask.
  3. Looks promising, but will the VA actually follow the new rules?
  4. Just recently had same surgery. PT is not required, but may be given if doc recommends it. The swelling is not uncommon after surgery and can be attributed to lymphedema. They should keep their hand elevated, even when sleeping. Elbow should be above the shoulder and hand above the elbow. It helps a lot. Basically you let gravity reverse the pooling of lymph fluid.
  5. Your asthma looks good for 30%. Because it is an increase, they should apply the effective date for it back one year or when they prescribed the steroid inhaler, whichever is later. Hopefully your combined rating will go up.
  6. This has to be the funniest thing I have read in a while. You might be on to something...
  7. When at the VAMC the other day, I saw a bunch of Affordable Care Act VA pamphlets which went over the details.
  8. Sounds like the problems they have complained about for years: - Lack of training - Poor morale - High turnover - Etc...
  9. Cool site, but for full functionality it requires a subscription.
  10. Unfortunately, sometimes this does tend to happen, but sometimes there is a reason. If the claim was "similar" to another claim, they may have merged the two together or consider it pyramiding. Sometimes they just forget a claim. Yes, this does happen. The claim may also have been submitted, but the C&P doc simply fails to report on it. Yes, they can screw this up too. If a claim is missed, it is still considered an open claim. Because you filed hardship, if you qualified they should have hopefully jumped on it sooner than this. I'm not very familiar with hardship requests, so hopefully someone more knowledgeable will help out. I just wanted to let you know the VA really does miss things sometimes.
  11. When you go to the VAMC, does your primary care doc actually check you? I wanted to pose this question to members of the Hadit family because I had a recent series of visits which sparked this question. Visit 1: Primary care doc only listened to me tell him what's wrong, but did not check anything else. Visit 2: Primary care doc was out. Alternate doc listened to my chest, checked my ears, nose, throat, etc... Visit 3: Follow up visit - Primary care doc again only listened to me tell him what's wrong, but did not check anything else. Anyone else have this happen to them too? I know the VA docs are encouraged to "flip" patients (turn them around asap), but this seems crazy...
  12. Wow, that seems like you got lucky. Some docs are great. The VA needs more docs who are genuinely good to their patients. I hope your results are positive!
  13. It never fails. They ask you about your health. You answer. Then the glassy-eyed look sets in on their face...
  14. Tried the same with Alabama property taxes and they said they would not go back at all. Still have not given up...
  15. AD is often the first "rubber stamp" diagnosis for many patients. Some doctors prefer to see how the patient does over time and treatment until assigning a more specific diagnosis. Hang in there...
