Anyone who has experience or thinks they can help please advise. Went to primary care Dec 4, clinic 15 miles away outside Portland OR, five hour round trip with visit. Saw new doc for first time. 45 minute appt. After telling me he was sure I was going to die of cancer (not his call or specialty or place to say) and needed also to be on a statin*, he decided I was too healthy to need any lab work at all and so ordered none. First time in 30 years none were ordered. I asked for PT referral for shoulder, then found out he put 'CID' date of Jan 16 instead of 30 days out, which schedulers said "had to have been a mistake" but there was nothing they could do, I did not q…

Responsibility to act on privacy violations falls both to the VA itself and to the Office for Civil Rights within the Department of Health and Human Services. That's the agency charged with enforcing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the federal patient privacy law known as HIPAA Question and my rights? I had a Bad VA Staff Dentist to fit me for partials, during the procedure she seem to distraught with bad body language and argumentative and not sanitary (didn't seem to be very clean of her surroundings , she used gloves but before she mixed up the solution mix for my partials she had her gloves on and open some doors and cabinets looking…

what can a Veteran do when he sees a VA Dr and disagrees with this Dr and the Dr is disrespectful and down right mean and dim-straits bad body language toward the veteran...and the veteran and the Dr have words,(disagreements) but the veteran keeps his cool.and shows respect in spite of this bad VA Dr..of course the Dr covers her self and none of this is mention in her Appointment Notes After the ordeal is over.....so its the Veterans word against the Dr I do not think the Dr Assistant will be of any help,,,this is a V A Dentist BTW.and the only Prosthodontists.they have to do this specialty at this VAMC Should the Veteran not say anything ? and just let it be, …

I've been waiting six months for a Urology Appointment. I have a 10.2 cm parapelvic cyst on my right kidney. My PcP has requested a consult 3 times. Urology Dept. just canceled it every time. They're too busy. My PcP called me and told me not to wear a seat belt because it could rubture. What is the process of using private care? Where does the bill go? Do I first have to get VA's approval? How good is this bill if Veterans can't figure out how to use it?

I will have Medicare Part A available in a month, opted out of B for S S D I. Will this do any good in requesting for example an MRI instead of a CAT scan since they could potentially have Medicare paying for it or part of it?

Hello everyone, Anyone ever have kidney stones treated with a procedure called shock wave lithotripsy? I have one which is too large to pass and they are wanting to use this type of treatment to "blast" the stone. I read details about the procedure online, but am curious about first hand accounts of post-procedure pain levels and downtime.

I have had back issue since 1981. Last week Thursday 13 Sept I re-injured my back and had terrible back pain. I finally called the VA Hospital Monday morning to get an appointment with my Primary care doctor and was told I cannot just call and get an appointment anytime I wanted one. I said what do you expect me to do, they said I would receive a call from the health nurse within two hours. I received a call and the nurse asked me some questions and then said I recommend you go to the Emergency room. I said what for this is not an emergency I just need to get a pain shot she said to me well my computer program says you should go to the nearest ER. I said you mean to tel…
