I mailed my re-order form to the VAMC in their own envelope in December for my January refill of my pain meds. My pain meds are delivered by certified mail any time from the 1st to the 8th of the month. This puts a strain on me since I get exactly one month supply. Today was the 9th so I called the pharmacy. No record of any pain meds being mailed. I called the Pain Nurse. She said she never received a form from me???? What should I expect? It is December and the USPS is full of temps throwing main everywhere. The nurse told me that I should expect my 30 day supply to arrive any time between the first of the month to the 13th of the month if I mail in the form on time. …

I'm looking for others to post their experience with the VA's handling of their OSA care. I was diagnosed 2 yrs ago. The VA gave me a CPAP. I was eventually able to adapt to a nose pillow type facial apparatus. Took about a yr. Since then they've given me a new machine but I'm still having problems w/it. Last wk I had a private OSA specialist order me a new sleep study. I believe I will be switched to a BPAP shortly, which should help. Part of my problem is that the VA never set my new machine to my specs but just left the factory specs set for me. Needless to say I'm still having problems. My private Dr reset the CPAP for me, which helped, but will probably nee…

Has anyone on the board had a pulmonary embolism? I have one now and have been in icu for 5 days and am now on home health care. I was told how lucky how I was to be here. They found no clots in my legs so they are not sure where they started and ended up in my lungs. I just know anytime I exerted myself I could not breathe. I am home now on blood thinners, before they were giving me shots in my stomach. Can anyone tell me if they have bee thru this and what the outcome was? Gotta take care of my wife and to do that I gotta take care of myself. Thanks

Hello, has anyone been having problems in getting their meds refilled on time at the VAMC in Mpls, Mn ? I've been having alot of problems of getting my Pain and Nerve meds plus acouple of others filled on time. I'm 100% P & T and need these when I run out. I've talked to the Directors Office, Patient Advocate, Supv in Pharmacy plus my Doctor - empty promises every other month. As I type this I'm outa my nerve med and test stripes and I just got my Pain med in the mail this afternoon - two days later - so much for undue pain and suffering. I get so depressed I wished it was all over. Any good insight would be great .

Hello my fellow family members. Need some advice on getting my prescriptions filled. I take a total of 10 different medications and will not have a problem having most of them filled and sent to me. However my oxycodone refills are a real hard one. We are going to be traveling for the next two years and will only be home ten weeks of the year. We will be traveling around the world but need to get our refills. Any advice would be great. We have no family members who can forward the medication.

This all started after I told the Dr I smoke a little pot to help for pain, bad move he didn't like that at all. Then I ask him to write an opinion for me,couldn't do that. I cant work no where, why do you need a drug test if I am telling you I smoke waste of money and I have nothing to hide and its not your business. I ask for a new doctor & had my first appoin…

Hello All, My doctor told me just 2 days ago that my lung disease and the infection we are trying to get under control has me operating in low volume. and short of breath. He also made a comment on the Pulmonary hypertension about my need for starting O2. I am alittle hesitant about starting it but if it works to get me more oxygen then fine. I am waiting on VA to award the 100 percent for the PH , They just are moving slow. Now do I understand it correctly that the VA must rate the O2 use at 100 percent on the COPD or Restricted Lung disease with Diagnositics of 6602 and 6845??? I will also get it from the O2 award according to 6602 or 6845. Any comments here.. NEVE…
