I have bone-on-bone of the non-dominant shoulder and the VA Hospital in OKC is going to do the total shoulder replacement. I am interested in hearing from a few vets that have had shoulder arthroplasty and how they did post-surgery. Dr Betsy Nolan is going to be the surgeon and she has done over 500 shoulder replacements and that is far, far more than any surgeons in OKC. So please, give some advise and tell me how the end product was. I know about the 100% for one year and 30-60% thereafter but I'm primarily interested in the outcome of the surgery.

I got a letter asking if I wanted to participate in pain control study at VA. I have done these clinics, meeting studies. I was so desperate I volunteered for them over many years at hospitals and the VA. Never helped, and if they are trying to try to get you off meds and you already tried everything and live in hell because of intractable unbearable pain, you cannot function and the last thing you need is talk talk, talk and more pain. I have been through so much! so much! I knew that when they sent me this another ph.d candidate is probably doing a study. The VA may also be trying to see how many people it can take meds away and see if they really need them. Now they of…

Therapist changes my Appointment times and dates without notifying me of these changes I just happen to look on Myhealthvet a day or two or the night before my noted appointment and to find these changes made without my knowledge. I have a question about if I can file for compensation for my acid reflux caused by my mental health medicines? I have to take acid reflux medication for my reaction to my Wellbutrin and Effexor. I have been taking it for about a year now and every time I try to stop, it comes back with a vengeance. Do I have a claim or should I just forget it? If I can and get it service connected at 10% that would jump me to 90%! Is it worth it?

My VA shrink put me in for a consult for ECT. I'm pretty stressed about it and terrified. I've done the googling about it and saw that all the professional orgs say it's improved, safe, and successful...but there's always the horror stories. Also I read it's not permanent. I was wondering if any of you have experienced ECT administered by the VA? I go next week to the consult, if I don't reschedule it again. I'm torn between desperate to feel my normal self and terrified to lose something I didn't sign up for (ECT is known to cause memory loss, supposedly it comes back). I'm guessing they will keep me inpatient for the treatments. I cancelled the first time because I was …

If you choose to use the VA for medical care and you turn 65 and get medicare and you report that you do to the VA Clinics..is that all you need to do? My reason for asking is when I check in on the K machines it ask me if I have medical insurance I say I have medicare , and then it ask me if I have any other insurance? I said no. but I got to thinking I do have another medicare supplement that I pay 129,00 monthly , its taken out of my bank account monthly I believe it's ''Untited World Life'' as plan G Although it says on my ID Card to all medical providers this patient's medicare supplement claims are automatically filed by the medicare carrier.
