ptsd Doctors Letter
Hello all. I was told by my DAV rep who I can never get a hold of and when I do he tries to get me off the phone as fast as he can. And he will be dumped as soon as my claim is done. Sorry. He told me that my ptsd, hearing, and my heel spurs are deferred and that even with a hand written imo with proper contact info that my hips are denied service connection for chronic pain. This is the seccond time they just threw out my hips as a claim. I don't know how to proceed. In 96 I was taken to the USNS Mercy for seafare weekend by the VA. The Dr on the ship told me I had bone spurs. I was there for my knees so I pushed for an increase for the spurs and the doctors kept telling…

Military Medical Records (Where Could They Be)
I have a co worker whom husband severely fractured his femur and tore his knee up in basic training in 2001. He was hospitalized for 5 months while he recovered and subsequentially discharged upon him recovering. He received no injury pay, just a hope you get well wish. He still has surgical pins in his femur bone and left knee. He is bothered with restless leg syndrome, stiffness, limited ROM, and pain. In addition, he is not able to maintain a regular exercise program due to the physical limitations. He seems to have a fairly decent claim for the injuries; however the VA is unable to locate his medical records. They sent correspondence to Missour…

At This Time, Your Regional Office Is Unable To Provide An Estimated Completion Date For This Type Of Claim
Hi everyone, has anyone seen this before? ( At this time, your Regional Office is unable to provide an estimated completion date for this type of claim ) After 13 months of waiting for VA to make a decision on my claim and I can't count how many times they have lost my paperwork. They sent out a letter denying me because they had lost my paperwork again. The same day they open a case, waiting for ministration review and apparently they found my records the same day they sent out the denial. I have called my local congressman several times and left message without any response. Can somebody recommend a congressman or senator that could help me in getting some kind of mo…

Ibs Rating?
I had a combination of a GW exam and C&P for my Scars, Sinus and intestinal conditions. The GW was the brief exam. Told the provider all the immunizations that I took, burning oil fields exposed to and nightmares and fatigue. at this point I'm not sure what to expect from the GW exam One item i want to point out is the Intestinal condition exam. she looked at the several Gastroenteritis treatments during and after service( to included a DX of Hemorroids during and after service). The provider made a comment that i "should receive disabiltity for my IBS" and it looks like the provider documented a dx of IBS. I also i noticed that in 2012 i was dx with Ulceration of…

Potential Claim For Anxiety
Good morning, Was wanting some help with potentially filing a claim for anxiety. I saw my doctor in December because I was reading an article about depression in men. I identified at least 5 of the 12 symptoms of depression that I have. Doctor stated she believed I suffered from anxiety related to my S/C medical issues causing it rather than depression. Should I file a claim for Anxiety secondary to my S/C disabilities since that is how she stated it? Any help would be great. Thanks

Eliminate Concurrent Receipt Of Retirement Pay And Disability Compensation For Disabled Veterans
Does anyone on here have knowledge or information on the likelihood of concurrent receipt being eliminated? I read an article about the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) considering eliminating concurrent receipt being paid to veterans who have retired with 20 or more years; and receives disability pay will no longer receive disability pay if approved. I find this to be very disturbing considering how hard most veterans had to fight to get this earned benefit. I posted the article link below. Any insight would be helpful. http://www.cbo.gov/budget-options/2013/44744

Rated For Tinnitus - 7 Years After Initial Claim
Hello everyone, just a quick question... I seperated from active duty in 2007 and subsequently filed for tinnitus (I was in Security Forces for 10 years). My claim was denied initially, but I re-opened the claim, with NO new evidence... I had my C&P exam, I had the exact same replies as I did the first time around, and they granted 10% service connected. How do I get back pay for this? I am not sure it qualifies, but the ringing in my ears hasn't changed since my active duty days... Just thought I'd ask.

When Should I Expect To Receive My Retroactive Pay From The Va
Just received an increased percentage rate from 40% to 70% w/ spouse 1 child, due to a CUE claim. I am owed VA retroactive pay from Sep 2011-present. My questions are: What is the average time to receive retroactive pay from the VA AFTER DFAS has paid you their portion? I received $15K today from them. I already received the VA letter stating how much I was entitled to & how much I actually received for those years mentioned above. Any idea? Just want to know if I'll be waiting years for the back pay now. Thanks!

ptsd Self Inflicted Scars
I have PTSD and am SC'd for it. I was reading another post about scars and PTSD. Rather than hijack that thread, I wanted to start my own. After my trauma I never realized what was going on. I would lose touch with reality briefly. Now I realize it was a flashback. During one of my first episodes I was a 3rd person watching me have a flashback. This is my best explanation. I didn't know what was real or imaginary so I decided to cut myself with my M9. Now I'm left with an 8" reminding scar on my arm. I'm not proud of it. Nor am I ashamed. But nevertheless it's a reminder and imposes fear of what I'm capable of doing to myself. It happened in the ser…

ptsd Entitlement For Service-Connection For Ptsd Is Reopened/ The Entitlement For Service Connection For Mood Disorder With Ptsd Is Awarded
I had my BVA hearing in Portland Or, yea leader of the scandals, back in June after a 5 yr wait from the time I filed the appeal.I was granted the reopening of service connection for PTSD because I finally had received the US Army Criminal Command file 85 pages deep and mostly blacked out from my being kidnapped by 5 fellow members of my own unit at Ft Bragg NC back in 1979. I had a C& P hearing in 2008 and was denied because some idiot said I had a history of childhood abuse and my adoptive father spoiled...WTH? I guess it's perfectly ok to kidnap someone who has these problems even though it is so far from the truth it's not funny , As usual the incompentint employee…
