Iu-Worried
Hi everyone, I'm a hot mess right now. So I figured maybe some advice or a dose of reality can help me. I am rated 70% for major depression and anxiety. The other 10% is for PCOS, Hypothyroidism, patella femoral syndrom. I had a follow up C&P back in July for my major depression and anxiety. I received my decision letter back in August. They kept the rating at 70%, however they also put in this little excerpt: "occupational and social impairment, with deficiencies in most areas, such as work, school, family relations, judgement, thinking, or mood". Along with my decision letter, the VA initiated an IU claim. I filled out all the paperwork and letters …

Not Sure How It Will Go
Hello everyone, first time posting here. I have started an IU claim back in April 2014, I attended to C&Ps for increase for IVDS, TBI with Migraines, Cognitive disorder and MDD. The C&Ps seemed to go well, the C&Ps functional impact areas were noted as followed: IVDS: Does the Veteran's thoracolumbar spine (back) condition impact his or her ability to work? [X] If yes decribe the impact of each of the Veteran's thoracolumbar spine (back) conditions providing one or more examples: He would have trouble bending, stooping, climbing stairs. However, he was a contractor working with computers with his job running out March 2014. Therefore, he can work sed…

tdiu Tdiu -- What Is Considered Work?
Filing a new claim that also includes a formal TDIU request.... In my original claim, I provided a lay statement showing I had marginal income for the past three years and listed the number of hours I did various activities related to my contract with an online school. My hope was that VA would see the marginal income statement and infer a TDIU (this was before I discovered you can actually file a TDIU claim). There are a few questions that come up because of the kind of work I did. The C&P shrink stated, "He is able to function on this job because he is required to interact with others online only". That should be seen as a work limitation IMO since there are …

ptsd Tdiu And Voc Rehab
I am rated 70% PTSD and 10% hearing loss. I was on Family Medical Leave from my work due to my PTSD and signed up for Voc Rehab to possibly get a job where i didn't have to be with people. I had to quit Voc Rehab because I just can't pay attention enough to study. I have no short term memory and found myself unable to sleep due to the stress of failure in my Voc Rehab Classes. So now I have filed for TDIU. I am not working, no Voc Rehab. I am worried about yet another round of psychiatric exams. I find the entire process very stressful as I am sure we all do. I am hopeful that my failure with Voc Rehab will have a silver lining in as much as it will show that I cannot b…

tdiu Tdiu..c@ps...possible Reduction?
Basically I meet the requirements. Im currently unemployed and I have a 50% rating for hearing loss and a 10% rating for tinitus. They are both from the same group and combine to 55% and round up to 60% by VA math. I also have shoulder and wrist disabilities that have my overall rating at 70%. This all became effective in September 2014 (last month) Tdiu was not inferred in my BBE. I feel that I meet the requierments but aIm afraid to take the plunge. Specifically Ive herd that when you apply for tdiu that they make you do c@p exams. Im quite happy with my 50% rating for hearing loss and Im afraid that if I have to do another c@p for my hearing loss that my ra…

tdiu Tdiu Question. I Did Not File It, Potential Consequences Of Tdiu
Hey guys. SerAF here. I have a question regarding TDIU. I am a 70% disabled veteran at this current time. 1. I was recently awarded a 70% rating this past summer. 2. Since then I have been receiving letters in the mail stating they want more information from me....despite the fact that they had already awarded me with the 70%. 3. There is a claim in for TDIU that I do not recall putting in, yet it appears to be in order. I am not sure who initiated this process as I have turned in no paperwork for it. Two questions: Does the VA initiate the process for veterans on the grounds that they are severely disabled? Do they use past evidence or do they requi…

Status Has Changed
Hello All It's been a while since I've posted. I have a question for the experts or anyone for that matter. In reference to a claim for IU, What does, status has changed, 100% temporary due to hospitalization means? Original claim was submitted in 2007, I was not sc for any conditions at that time. Since then I have been sc with 50% being my overall rating. I've have BVA videoconference hearing on Aug 5, 2014 with a my VSO and a very nice female judge. During hearing I was asked have I ever considered IU? My response was, "honestly Your Honor, I really do want to work, but realize I have medical conditions that may prevent me from working." She asked me if I was …
