  1. Doing the math, $142M / 280k employees = average of $507 per employee.
  2. I didn't realize that the ability to date the claim up to 12 months prior to filing only applied to an increase in existing disabilities. Should I assume that claims for secondary conditions will be dated without this consideration? Also, I believe there is language for SMC-K claims that allow a date to be established that is also 12 months prior to the date of filing.
  3. Frustrating, was in Pending Notification for 11 days and now is back to Prep for Decision. I noticed the following comment under "What did we not receive" This is a list of items that have never been received from you and that have been closed. Item: 7### PortlandDate Requested: 10/31/2015Date Closed: 11/04/2015This is strange as I completed a fully developed claim. They never requested information from me.
  4. Curious if it is normal for an expedited claim to be in Preparation for Notification for 11 days without movement?
  5. vern2, congrats, I'm very happy for you. green
  6. I think the confusion is we are talking about two different issues: 1. What is required to file a claim 2. What is required to win a claim
  7. I can tell you that one of my old RO's is processing my current claims, made two out-of-state moves since last living there, in the last 4 and a half years. I suspect the fact they had my C-File is how that was decided.
  8. My opinion is the political winds are currently favorable towards veterans. The VA gets caught doing something wrong and it's immediately reported as a scandal on the news. One would think it would be in there own best interest to "do the right thing". And yes, at times I am naive. I choose to remain positive as best I can. Green
  9. Several of mine were completed and posted within a week of the exam. One took a few weeks to be posted. You can always go to the VAMC (or call first to see if they are available ) and ask for copies.
  10. I've found mine using blue button, query "notes"
  11. A little background - Started a FDC for 8 contentions the beginning of December last year. I have dealt with these secondary conditions for years but waited until I had my primary disability rating of 60% in place for 20 yrs due to being rated using old criteria and the newer criteria would rate me at 40%. Informed the VA through NOD that the date of my primary rating was wrong on eBenefits and submitted the original rating decision paperworkSubmitted the FDC mid July (provided packages for each contention with data going back over 10 years including VA medical records)Had C&P exams in August (all turned out favorable and the examiner agreed that they were > 50% likelihood tied to my service connected disability.Watched the status ping-pong around eBenefitsMy claim has been in Pending Notification for most of the last week. I called Peggy today and was told that on the 31st the claims folks had requested information from the Alaska RO. Keep in mind I haven't lived in AK for 13+ years but that is where my primary disability was increased from 20% to 60% 21 years ago. I have absolutely no idea why they would be requesting information from Alaska that goes back that far, any thoughts?
  12. Such a gross abuse of power. I'll bet a whistle-blower took them down.
  13. I wonder if it ever goes the other way. For instance the C&P examiner is more favorable than other medical evidence and as such the VA decides to rely more heavily on the other evidence?
  14. Fantastic story, thank you so much for sharing. Green
  15. I read somewhere that there was a 10% rating for pain. Any truth to this, is it by body part or is the rating supposed to cover all pain? Thanks, Green
  16. Jay, congrats on your 100% scheduler designation
  17. congrats on your win saxman
  18. I have to say that pursuing benefits (secondary) for 11 months now has been an education. I admit I'm not the most patient person but it seems to me that there should be more accountability and the VA should provide more information than they do. If you use the eBenefits chat feature or call the 1-800 number all you hear is a regurgitation of the same nonsensical information provided on the website. I really don't know how my sister and brother vets carry on for what must seem like an eternity with little more than a hope that in the end justice will prevail. You all have my respect. Green
