Question and Statement
Got a call from a former neighbor whom resides in Tennessee. He was overwhelmed about service connection (granted) for sleep apnea and rhinitis at the Board of Veteran Appeals. He is excited. He first filed in March 2010, got the initial decision in in April 2011, filed NOD in September 2011, received statement of case in December 2013, forwarded form 9 July 2014, appeal sent to BVA October 2016, and decision granted February 2019. He has a few questions??? How long does it take the regional office to implement the VBA grant? Will C&P exams be necessary? If he disagrees with decision, can he appeal directly back to the BVA instead of the regional o…

My brother has been denied for the second time schizophrenic..
Hi all.. First time on the site and I am very frustrated.. My brother has been denied for the second time.. In the early 90's and just now. He is schizophrenic and in my opinion had severe ptsd in the 70's. I need to know how to proceed.. Any information would be helpful since I am so new to this. We used a VSO and we thought it would be approved. I guess we were so wrong. Thank you for reading. And thank you all for your service.

Wait time Update
So I just wanted to VENT! I know the VA is updating to the new VA.gov, and since my appeal has been moved there it has stated 7-17 months is the typical waiting time to have this completed. I check today and it is updated with 16-29 months. I am glad they are getting closer to an actual time frame, but it is very aggravating!

NOD Timeframe?
I'm sorta double posting here, I tacked this onto someone else's post, then read I should have posted it myself so it wouldn't get lost.. I filed a NOD this past November for an increase in my 50% PTSD/Unspecified Mental Condition award and for an earlier effective date. I'm wondering if anyone has updated information on how long it takes? I really don't know what RO my NOD is at, my case manager at attorney's office tells me that appeals are sent to many different locations, depending on workload now. No Monday Morning list to check. It's my understanding the process has changed dramatically since Feb. and the new appeals process. On vets.gov it's telling me my a…

Vets.gov questions regarding DRO review
Anyone have any idea how long it takes once your NOD reads on Vets.gov that the DRO is reviewing it. I know there is a little blurb about usually taking one to two months for a decision, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this. Thanks

DRO Hearing- How to submit new evidence?
Submitted my claim in Oct 2016. Received Denial April 2017 - after being looked at for 4 days. Filed a DRO appeal in June 2017. Spoke with Dr. Bash for the first time a few days ago and he said to write a letter to the VA saying that I have new evidence to add to my file. How do I go about doing that? Is there a certain form I need?

Question about NOD wait time after applying.
When you file a NOD how long does it generally take on the average to hear back from a DRO?. I filed a NOD form last week with Waco, TX. Regional Office and also asked for a DRO Hearing right up front to get that part out of the way without further delays asking me what kind of DRO I wanted... Never done a NOD before so any input on average time frame of initial response is helpful. Just curious. Wayne.

Dr. did not answer one question on the DBQ for kidney stones
I submitted a claim for kidney stones and it came back service connected but at 0%. It says to be rated at 10% the evidence needs to show "only an occasional attack of colic, not infected and not requiring catheter drainage. (38CFR4.124a) The problem is that the Dr who completed the DBQ left that question unanswered. I filed an appeal and included a statement that said: The DBQ completed by Dr. Donald Cohen incorrectly answered the question 4C, "DOES THE VETERAN HAVE ANY SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS DUE TO UROLITHIASIS?" AS NEGATIVE. My medical records show clearly and repeatedly that I have had many signs and symptoms due to urolithiasis (stones that form in my urinary tra…
