A number of those documents were critical to veterans' disability claims.
As the story unfolded, VA finally began to release information on the incident and we learned that more than one Regional Office was involved in this shredder scandal.
The VA's Office of Inspector General (VAOIG) is investigating.

It should be obvious by now that our homeless veterans are not being served well at all. If the homeless veterans were properly cared for by our country, the total homeless population would fall by more than 40 percent over night. Homeless services would then have sufficient funding to move many of the rest of the homeless off the streets into transitional housing with services that bring them back into the working population. It would be a dream come true. If only our country would step up to the plate, homelessness in our country would be virtually eliminated. If only…. Lets Summarize the Homeless Veteran Situation. 750,000 total homeless count in …

On Wednesday February 3rd, I went to the VARO and presented a "NOD" to the intake clerk at the front desk. When I asked that it be date stamped, the clerk told me that the date stamp machine was taken in the back and that she would just write on the top " received VARO" with her initials. I told her that this was a time sensitive letter and insisted that she go in the back and stamp it in or put her supervisor's name on it as well, She verbally assaulted me and threatened to call "security" ( this means the goons with guns ). I suggested she either gets the letter stamped or call the VA police. I noticed, what appeared to be a supervisor peek his head o…

B) Again? If you go to the Colorado Springs VAMC and qualify for travel pay get ready to be ripped. Marvin runs the facility. He knows me! I complain. The facility does not pay proper travel. Most of us know that we are to be paid from our residence to the VA facility. I don't know of any exception to this rule. Marvin seems to have one. When I check out after my shrink appointment I am to get 214 miles round trip. That is about $82.00. But what happens is typical VA fraud. The clerk looks up the mileage and he comes up with 172 miles. So very wrong. He will not attempt to correct it. The clerk will argue with you. Are in his terms, "Are you g…

Herring said he received the Navy Cross, a decoration for valor second only to the Medal of Honor; three Purple Hearts, each indicating combat injuries; and a Bronze Star, although not for valor. The biography a…
