  1. Two years in appeal, and still waiting... Time for another R&R....
  2. Congratulations. Glad to read the words, " the battle is over"... You have definitely earned a little R&R,'johnjjr'. Tomorrow, I am leaving on a ten day road trip to Southern California. It is a great way to celebrate life, breathe in the new air, and shake off the day to day strife that the VA experience may bring.
  3. The St. Pete VARO is a few States over from mine. However, in my neck of the woods, tomorrow will mark the two year anniversary of my NOD and request for DRO review and/or hearing. Good wishes to all who are still waiting. Cmdr. Bob
  4. JMHO..."Temporomandibular Joint disorder" TMJ, is probably common with many PTSD vets. I had a TMJ operation in the 1970's. I too, would be interested if anyone has been treated for the disorder.
  5. Congratulations,'Chu Lai69'. I have had many great adventures with that card. Went to the top of the Big Island, Hawaii, Great R&R facilities. I have used the MWR privileges too many time to remember. Especially when the family was younger. Good Luck & and go out there and have some fun... Cmdr. Bob
  6. Your husband is a fortunate man to have you by his side. My most positive thoughts are with you and your family.
  7. Did you mean C&P exam? Here is some info: http://www.vawatchdog.org/contaminatedequipment.htm
  8. February 18th, will mark the 2nd anniversary of my NOD. I am waiting on a DRO review and hearing... I sometimes ask myself the same question, broncovent. have I given the RO a reasonable period of time to resolve the issue? Would a waiver of RO consideration at the BVA eliminate a remand?
  9. Congratulations carlie. You are a wonderful person and comrade. I am very happy for your success. You are an inspiration to so many vets , members and visitors, here at Hatit. Best regards, Bob
  10. I join the other fourm members,'cornhen', in welcoming you to Hadit. You have my most positive thoughts for a timely and successful outcome to your claim. cmdr bob
  11. Texas has come a long way in the last few years... Florida sounds sweet too. Cmdr. Bob
  12. You are many things to many people, 'LarryJ'...But you are ~not lost~ I'll follow you anywhere through the VA maze!!! Happy 5771, Bob
  13. "can I still have the claim reopened due to new and material evidence" JMHO,... this is your best bet. Good Luck, Cmdr. Bob
  14. Don't stop taking any meds without talking to your family doctor first. cb
  15. I have read many times on Hadit. "A journey of a thousand miles, starts with that first step", 'ironfaux'... If you could find a DR. to review your military medical records, etc.., and write an IMO stating that your disability was caused by your military service. That would be a big help. With the limited info you have posted, I wish you good luck. Best regards, Cmdr. Bob
  16. Now we wait, 'Papa'... Best wishes for positive news and better health in the new year. Cmdr. Bob
  17. I am happy for you and your family. Best wishes in the new year. Cmdr. Bob
  18. Yes... I believe Larry meant to write... VA Form #21-4138, "Statement In Support of Claim". The form numbers floating around the VA bureaucracy is enough to make anyone's head swim in a dyslexia circle. Quality of life for all veterans is paramount on my New Year's wish list. Again, Best regards to you and your family. Please give your husband well wishes, from a fellow Vietnam grunt. CB
  19. As was pointed out earlier, IHD is presumptive to exposure to "Agent Orange" defoliant. By any chance were you exposed, or did you ever handle any of that nasty stuff?
  20. Best wishes for a successful outcome, Ripper1269. Cmdr. Bob
  21. Hi 'timestamp', Sorry I didn't get back with you earlier. I am preparing for a "Road Trip"~...Going to do some fishing in the Fla. Keys. Though your NOD timeline and back story is a bit vague, I would agree with many of the responders here. All things considered, and with what you have told us thus far, I would go with your effective date as sometime in April 2009. I just don't have enough details of your situation. The C&P exam could of been ordered by the DRO to help you with your claim...??? Also, You know, I think the stressor rules have changed since you originated the claim for PTSD in April of 2009.??? Please keep us posted. Best wishes in the new year, Cmdr.Bob
  22. Did you or your rep. ever file a "Notice of Disagreement" NOD, within that one year period???
  23. Thank you for your post, 'Testvet'. usmc/usa, as well as many other vets and families going through this process will read your remarks and feel up lifted and reassured. For some, it will give them the strength to go on. I find it moving and right on target. you wrote
