diabetes Peripheral Neuropathy
I am currently service connected for neuropathy in both hands and feet at 10% each . At a recent C/P examination, I told the examiner that my feet feel like they are asleep with a tingling, numbness and burning constantly in both feet. the diagnosis by the VA examiner stated, "Peripheral polyneuropathy of the feet bilaterally. This does not involve a particular nerve distribution but is in stocking distribution, consistent with polyneuropathy. This involves primarily the lower extremities. Regarding the connection between peripheral polyneuropathy in the lower extremities, this is at least as likely as not caused by diabetes. This is a well-described complication of d…

Affect Of Ao On Children
My youngest son has always suffered from ADHD, Major Depressive Disorder, Conitive Disorder, and Cadine Sleep disorder. Forgive the spelling, please. I was exposed to AO in Vietnam from 1969-70. Could there be a connection? Could or would it be advisable to file for disablity, and is this really possible? It would seem like a long shot to win. Papa

diabetes Glucoma
Hi Gang, Has any one heard of a glucoma/diabetes connection relative to A/O? I have diabietes (20%) and recently developed a (so far) mild case of glucoma. I have no family history of either one of these ailments and am wondering if the glucoma is a result of diabetes? So far the diabetes has not caused any bleeding in the back of the eye and the oral medication seems to be controlling it fairly well (blood sugar stays at 130-140). <_< Man- I just love these little faces LOL Thanks Cavtrooper088

hypertension Disability Digest
I have several items that I need help with. Has anyone had any contact with a web site called the Disability Digest ? I was on the site and entered my cell number and I was contacted by a rep from this site. I told him that I was rated at 50% in Dec for Agent Orange/ diabetes this year and he said I should ask for an increase. I told him that I was not insulin dependant and I felt that 50 was good. Right after I received my first check I went into the hospital and had a stint put in because of a 90% blockage. I now have coronary artery disease and hypertension. I filed a claim in Jan 09 saying that coronary artery disease and hypertension were secondary to my diabetes …

Lung Cancer Disability Rating After Surgery
My husband recently had a lung biopsy performed to rule out cancer (the location of the mass couldn't be reached any other way) and it turned out to be cancer that necessitated removal of a lobe of his lung. Fortunately, they found it early and no other treatment was needed. Shortly after, we found out about the link to Agent Orange and lung cancer for Vietnam Vets. He began the application process and have had the VA visits and the paperwork sent, etc. My question is this: Does compensation for lung cancer work the same way as for prostate cancer? In other words, since he filed after the treatment was completed (even though he was still in the early recovery s…
