Finally had C&P exam
I feel indifferent to my exam. It was conducted by an LHI contracted Psychologist and the form I was given stated it was going to be 120 minutes. The exam lasted about 60 minutes. When I was telling him of my stressors he stopped me and told me to only give him the important ones... (I had quite a few) he said that they need to focus on the main issues. I filled out a PTSD screen and he was just going down the list and midway through he stopped and said everything on this screen is basically how you feel in your day to day life and I yes. His questions were kind of general and I tried to give as much information as I could. When it came to my work I told him that I was co…

1st Claim ever......Need Help!
I am using a DAV representative about 4 hours from me so questions have been through email and phone. I am applying for several disabilities and have requested records from St Louis and have been told a 6 month wait. In the mean time last week i was diagnosed as having severe PTSD at the VA scored a 57 on the DSM-V with 17 symptoms. I have a follow up appointment next week. This is stemming from indirect mortar and rocket fire from 2010-2011. I have my orders showing I was in country during the event. Should I go ahead and file for PTSD and hearing and tinitus now or wait for the rest of my documentation for two other non related disabilities from the 90's? Since I am no…

PTSD/MST Awareness & Education
Hello, I know in the past I have related the MST- "story" about my trauma. I press on for the public's education, for others to know that you are not alone. Featured on youtube.com is "Don & Diane Shipley" . I contacted them in reference to a false Seal claim in connection with this inmate. Don asked me to be a guest on the website podcast last night.... I hope for healing one day, or help the memory of the woman murdered not be forgotten. How the process in the VA continues to traumatize..... Blessed & Grateful to be honored on this website last night. http://www.extremesealexperience.com/ …

Quitting Anti-Depressants / SSRIs
I'm 70% disabled. I just started on Testosterone Replacement Therapy. Lots of men with hypogonadism begin TRT then they quit their SSRI. I've been on anti-depressants for about 14 years. I've been 70% disabled for depression for about 10 years. If I quit those drugs, will they make a reduction?

Secondary SA to PTSD- Approved but...
I have been diagnosed with PTSD and rated at 70%. Recently Sleep Apnea was approved as a secondary condition. BUT there was no rating increase. The decision states -"We have assigned a 50 percent evaluation for SA" . I do use a CPAP machine. But then it states - "An aggravated evaluation of 0 percent is assigned. When added with the pre-exisiting 50 percent, this disability meets the criteria for the 50 percent evaluation". Can anyone decode this? What is the pre-exisiting 50 percent? My PTSD is rated at 70 percent two years ago. Thanks!

Austin Tx Vet Shoots self in waiting room!
Its a shame this happens and it seems its getting a lot worse Just last week a young Veteran kills himself in clinic waiting room 100% witness his death. Austin Texas VA clinic. Veteran takes his life in front of large American flag. The news won't post this, they would rather sweep it under the rug and pretend Vet suicide doesn't happen. There are hundreds of us vets who will never forget what happened yesterday at noon. RIP young brother.

Claiming secondaries while primary is in appeal
I recently joined the ramp for my ptsd and scars in May 2018. I previously filed appeal 2015 for my scars and 2016 for my ptsd . I was granted 100% 11/2018 on my ptsd.My scars never was answered . When I appealed my scars I had c&p in 2017 which I nevered received a SOC . So I didn’t think much about it due to joining the ramp 5/2018. In 6/2018 i filed secondaries on my scars and infection I developed due to old appendectomy that caused serious infection. I did not know that I could not file on secondaries while primary is in appeal nor did the regional office notify me and say we are rescinding this claim. On Jan 23rd 2019 I had another exam of my scars. So I recen…

CORRELATION BETWEEN PTSD & ADHD
My civilian doctor made a correlation - he used the word overlaid - between my ADHD and PTSD. This was news to me, but I researched it and found that there are indeed many, indeed mostly, identical symptoms. I went down in my T-28 in basic flight training (engine failure) in 1973, survived (went on to get my wings) and am now revisiting some physical and emotional issues in a VA Disability claim that are rooted in that crash. It's an uphill battle in a downhill body. If there is anybody out there in the same boat that has had a similar experience with regard to ADHD and PTSD and has filed and been successful with the VA I'd like to hear from you. Keep in mind t…

VA says they cant diagnosis PTSD
I have been seeing a Private psychologist for my PTSD treatment and he has given me a diagnosis and relates it to my military service. But, with the advice from the board, I started going to the VA psychologist to obtain a diagnosis from them. At my appointment, I told them I have been going to see my private doctor every month and told them that I wanted them to request the records to show that I was seeking treatment. She basically kept saying that the VA does not diagnose PTSD because it takes to long (many hours?) and that I need to get with the Texas Veterans Commission (My VSO) and they set me up with a third party doctor to obtain a diagnosis. None of this sounds …

C&P for Ptsd: What to expect?
I greatly appreciate the members who gave me feedback on my dbq the other day. I just submitted my fully developed claim for ptsd with the following: 1) dbq- attached 2) Two buddy letters: one from a buddy who witnessed the same killing I witnessed. The other is from my brother giving accounts of my behavior since I came home from the Corps. My brother says that I have headbutted him on two occassions when we had a heated discussion. Another friend said I did the same to him. I don't remember head butting either. But I know I get heated up easily. 3) Social Security Record: Job history print out: 95 jobs in 26 years MY QUESTION IS: What should I…
