MilConnect records for PTSD Stressor Verification
First off thank you for this site and any help I can get. I was USAF and deployed to Saudi and was barracked at Khobar Towers when it was bombed in 96. For the last couple of years, I have started to show a lot of signs of PTSD. I recently went and talked to my Primary Care doc at the VA and she referred me to mental health. I sat and talked to a doctor for over an hour and a half and he diagnosed me with PTSD, depression and anxiety. I also have tinnitus and sleep apnea. I am going to go about starting a PTSD claim and filed my intent to file yesterday. I got on Milconnect and ordered my OMPF files. What I got back in a pdf is my seperation file, my DD214, my enlist…

Opinions please. Worsening symptoms. Ptsd/ tbi
So I have been a member on here discussing my claims. I have had a long road with this claim starting last August 2018. So the claim is not finished but it finally went to preparation for decision. My ptsd/tbi symptoms have gotten even worse. My wife is an alcoholic who pushes me to my limits. She punched me in the face and I totally lost my control. I went into a rage and dont remember what happend. She obviously called the police and I was arrested for domestic violence. I was given an order of protection from my wife and year old daughter who is my world. I had to move to my mother's house temporarily for at least a month. I have been feeling suicidal and just plain an…

Claim Requests
I was at Khobar Towers in 1996 when it was bombed. I opened my claim August 8th. I checked today and the status is in evidence gathering. I claimed : PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) (related to: PTSD - Combat) (New) Hearing Loss (related to: PTSD - Combat) (New) tinnitus (related to: PTSD - Combat) (New) sleep apnea (related to: PTSD - Combat) (New) There is an open request for medical records backing up any claims. I am cpt therapy now for my PTSD. Do I need to upload all of that or will they already have access to that since it is being done at the VA? I had a hearing test done at the VA a month ago and I have severe h…

How to apply for disability for Hypothyroidism
I'm currently at 70%, pending an appeal for PTSD. Over the last couple years, VA has been watching my thyroid (multiple nodules), ended up having a total thyroidectomy this past December, so I am on the Synthroid roller coaster, trying to get my levels under control, dealing with depression, sensitivity to light, sensitivity to cold, nausea, dry skin, headaches, fatigue, etc. - this condition has severely impacted/changed my way of life. I've always had struggles with my weight, being borderline for the weigh-ins, was put on the PT program because I was over the body fat %, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea (non-service connected; they never tested me while I was active …

Questions regarding VA disability, c&p, and veteran suicide risk
So my husband is going though the VA disability process. He began treatment in April doing CPT which aggravated his symptoms immensely. In May, he was fired from the job he has held for 8 years. In June, he was put on disability leave from his National Guard unit after command became aware of his suicide risk and they have mandated that he continues the therapy which is only making the situation worse. He has been in for 15 years and most likely will be medically chaptered out which has worsened his depression significantly. Due to his suicidal thoughts I am trying to manage this financial crisis as best I can because I’m afraid he is being pushed over the edge. He just s…

PTSD tbi
So the va had an ace exam done for my tbi to determine occupational and social impairment between ptsd and tbi. Dr stated that the majority come of occupational and social impairment come from ptsd with a small minority due to tbi residuals. My claim went back to gathering of evidence. I called my vso and that said the va sent the examiner to ask to please differentiate between the symtoms and impairment between the two. I thought they were going to be combined anyway but this just keeps stalling the claim. Think they would probably just give me 70 for the both combined. Anyone ever have this happen?
