The dbq I just received...
I realize PTSD disability claims and %'s are solely up to the VA personnel to decide upon, but would any of you "experts" read my dbq and weigh-in with your opinion as to: a) my chances of approval and if so b) what % range I Might get approved for by the VA? I greatly appreciate this forum and the people who help educate and give opinions to the rest of us on the VA disability claim process. * I am well aware that no one on this forum can tell me for sure: a) if I will get approved and b) what %. I'm only asking for an opinion.* Thank you. DBQ.pdf

Writing a Letter for a buddy
Greetings! I am a USMC Veteran, I have PTSD (working on getting mine service connected, but thats another issues). I was asked by a close friend of mine who served in the US Army to write a Buddy Letter for his pending PTSD claim. I'm gong to share what I have written so far, I would appreciate some feedback on any changes I need to make. My name is (withheld), and I've known the Veteran (withheld) listed above since the Summer of 1998. To say I just know him would be an insult to our bond, (withheld) is my brother, not by blood but by choice. We were forged in the same fires of hell. We met the Summer before High School and from that point on we went everywhe…

PTSD due to MST checklist?
Hello, I’ve recently begun the process to file for PTSD due to MST. I want to be sure I do my due diligence before I officially submit any claim. My main question is, has anyone put together a solid “checklist” for what a FDC should contain for this issue? Or is there a website that can help me? Ive submitted my intent to file, requested my medical files from the VA, begun seeing a VA therapist (which has officially diagnosed the PTSD), and gathered my civilian medical records. Im in a holding pattern while I wait for the records, but I want to be working on any letters or exams I may need. Should I have the VA therapist fill out a DBQ for the PTSD, or would tha…

Finally filed PTSD claim, now C&P scheduled
I would like to thank you all for the information that helped me gather my information in my other question. Took most of the year, but finally filed PTSD due to personal trauma, early Jan 2019. Intent to file was running out. I did file some secondary conditions as well. I have just been called by VES to have my C&P PTSD exam in March. A question and answer exam I was told, 30-45 min. Glad I have researched similar exams here. Berta, Andy, Buck, Geekysquid, Thanks for the help and guidance. Was able to a buddy statement, CID records, VET center records from before I was discharged and current, and other current discipline records from work. Good statem…

mst PSTD-MST Questions
Looking for some guidance. I served on active duty in the Navy from 87-90 overseas on a ship. My original plans when I enrolled was to do 20 years, Back in Dec of 2018 I met with and amazing Veterans Service Officer about a tinnitus claim which was approved. While there she had handed me a bunch papers about claims and one was on PTSD and MST. She was copying and I was reading the PTSD-MST document and it triggered a bunch of emotions where I started shacking and tearing up. The VSO walked in and noticed my state and asked me if I was ok. I tried to answer her but, couldn't she went and got a male VSO and a male nurse to come in. Once the nurse helped calmed me down the…

SSDI Battle for 100 P&T Combat Vet
Hello All, Ive been coming to this site on and off for a couple of years, but this is my first post. Lot of knowledgeable and great people here. Thank you to all the old timers and those with experience for everything you contribute here. You do a lot for people, even though it may not be evident. Im a 36 year old 100 P&T VA for combat related PTSD, TBI and other service connected issues. Former active duty 11B B4, fought with the 101st in OIF. Left active in 2009 as I was having issues. No one was helping me, didnt understand what was wrong with me, and of course the culture of "if youre not bleeding or missing a limb, dont go to sick call", ect. So I left…

PTSD EXTRA STUFF ON CLAIM?
Hi, I posted a success story about my PTSD award, thank you all for the responses! , butI have a ? about what the VA is doing, My original PTSD was awarded and then 2 claims were defered apparently they were part of the PTSD award. I had my rep activate them and they are in a "pending approval" mode. So the VA split my claim originally into 3 components: 1(PTSD: awarded July 5 2018 and paid 2(Ptsd Personal Trauma: 07/05/2018 deferred at 1st, activated and now pending approval 3(Military Sexual Trauma (related To: Ptsd - Non-combat) Defrerred at 1st then now pending approval …

Dad filed claim for PTSD with no diagnosis..Seriously..But..
Brother, who worked doing claim appeals for veterans, seems to think he might still qualify.. I don't get it.. Dad was in the Korean war, he is 88, and he has always had an occasional nightmare of still being in the war, and the nightmares have gotten really bad. Other PTSD symptoms, but he is his own worst enemy, and has always refused to see a doc nor even let his PCP at least prescribe him med's for it. So, he was never diagnosed by a doctor. But when he went to see the VA doctor after filing his claim..the exam for his claim, the doc went over a few questions and concluded by saying 'how would you like to get $1200 for your claim..?'..I don't see how the do…

PTSD increase via Dr. Ellis
Currently 50% ptsd. I got an increase IME from Dr. Ellis for a recommendation to 100%. Anyone have any experience with getting an increase from a non psyc. Dr.? It was quite detailed and covered much of what was on the VA DBQ. Just not sure how much weight the VA will give it. Also TBI. Documented accident in med. records.

Co-worker lay letter- will it help my PTSD c&p exam rating
Hi everyone, I have a co-worker that has family members in the military and it appears that he seems to understand how difficult my days are at work due to my PTSD. According to him, his brother is rated at 70%, it break his heart seeing his brother go through the problem (PTSD). His brother lives with his wife and 3 sons few hours from his house. He tries to be there for him, hoping to alleviate pressure on his sister-in-law. Having said all this, after sharing my background and issue(s) PTSD, I mentioned that I have a PTSD exam coming up soon. He offered to draft a short to the point lay letter to convey how difficult it is for me at work due to my PTS…
