ptsd Should I File For A Disability Claim If I Get Better
12 years after the fact, I finally went to see a VA Psychiatrist and was diagnosed with PTSD via MST. My Psychaiatrist, psychologist, and social worker keep asking me if I've filed a disabillity claim. My goal is to get back to a 'normal' life. So what happens if I do get back to normal (no more events and works at a job), before my application is seen? Do I still file even though I am capable of working. I keep reading about going to see a seperate CP&T evaluation.

ptsd Anyone Know Of A Ptsd Forum For Children/family Of Vets?
My poor daughter has it rough - both parents with severe, chronic PTSD (as dx'd by the VA). She's in her 20's and has grown up with our oddness, etc. None of her friends have parents with mental illness (the only one who did shot himself when he was a senior in high school). So I was wondering if anyone knows of an online forum that she could go to, spill her guts in private anonymity. My therapist offered to have her come in, but she declined. I know it's because she's loyal and doesn't want to betray me or her dad. But in an online forum, maybe she could let it rip and get some stuff off her chest?

ptsd Ptsd Claim
I went to my local VA office to see what was the hold up on my cue for my hearing loss back pay. We he read it on his computer that it is the way to the RO, now that is good I guess. But I also found out that there is no claim filed for PTSD, even thought I have an appointment with a swrink this coming May and been to group session and 16 weeks to go. So I went ahead and had him to file a claim for me. I also got a copy of the request. Now I just have to the waiting game. I do hope that with the appoveal of OT it will not take to long.
