I am finally dress to go to my USPS job, I believe I am on top of the world financially, a retirement due to 20 years of service, some disability, and a job I love. But family, I cannot open the door to go to work. This goes on for over two weeks, my wife seeks an explanation almost demanding one. I looked at her like a Pvt. Looking for a left handed wrench. Several days before I was at a big box grocery store, I saw a young military couple. I started crying like a baby, trying to hide my tears. I did know that something was wrong. So after CPT, Distraction, Cognitive Distortion, Several Groups, Prolong Exposure Therapy, I finally seek a claim, and my C&P is eleve…

ptsd Up To 90%
Yesterday I received my packet from the VA. I was rated at 50% for PTSD along with other issues for a total of 80%. I received 10% for IHD, two increases for PN to 20% for each leg and 70% for PTSD.The effective date was 6/30/09. I was denied IU because I didn't show that I was unable to secure or follow substantially gainful occupation. I retired 3 years ago from the PO, which some of the members can relate too. I thought that a rating of 70% assigned for occupational and social impairment, with deficiencies in most areas, such as work.etc would make my case for IU easier. The PTSD, DMll, PN, and the IHD would make gainful employment difficult. I think I qual…

ptsd Exam Coming Up
Hello, I have had a claim for PTSD and Depression ongoing since 2005. I finally had a Comp. and Pension exam in Dec. 2010. The exam was very detailed and exhausting, lasted two hours. Needless to say I was not prepared, I had yet to find this site and did not do any research before going, stupid, I know. Anyway the doctor was very pleasant and professional, after a couple of minutes I realized it was not just chit-chat that she was going down a pre-planned questionaire, I have since seen pretty much the same one on this website, however she did not ask all of the questions as the one on here. In April I recieved a letter stating the claim was denied and being rema…

ptsd Affraid To Believe
I applied for TDIU after suffering from 70% PTSD rating and work became impossible. Months and months have gone by...and even my psycholgist was concerned. He's ask me "did you here yet"? .... and I'd answer no. Today I got a letter from the DAV saying..... "it;s not official till you get the letter from the VA", but that they see that I have been awarded 100% disability and are rated P&T. I'm very anxious of course... what to believe. Please help me with two questions if you will. *How long after the DAV letter am I likely to hear from the VA officialy? *Does the finding change sometimes after the service organization announces the VA finding …

My question is can you apply for PTSD increase while appealing the IU? would it be any faster? I am currently not working and my issues are getting worse. also, the VA is sending me to AZ for 2.5 weeks of therapy for PTSD. Thank you all for your help

ptsd Let Us Celebrate
Back last Oct 2010, the VA had be re-evaluated for PTSD. At the time of the C&P, I was rated at 30%. The first C&P was very fast, all the doctor wanted to hear was that I was in a combat zone, had issues, and he had a waiting room full of patience. The second doctor took a lot more time with me, and she even connected my PTSD with my eating habits. She even stated that I would not be able to hold a job, etc. The first Doctor gave me a GAF of 55, and the second one a 50. I thought after reading the report the 50 was too high. It has been a year now, I did not ask for this second exam as I did not have the common sense to ask for one, the VA did. Besides the…
