  1. Congratulation gooz87 on your award and thanks for your service.
  2. This is good information. My brother was in the Navy and had a similiar situation after multiple "good years" of service ending with his chapter discharge for a positive urinalysis test. He submitted an initial claim that was denied by VA, citing the negative discharge. However, after going over his medical files last year before his appeal time ran out, I had him to request reconsideration based on several claims originating during the "good years" of service and at least two have been granted with a 10% and 0% rating, respectively. He now has a representative with one of the service organization assisting him on the others as all of them originated during the "good years" (or honorable years) of service.
  3. Congressman Filner is a real advocate for Veterans and not just with lip service in my opinion. Only if there were more like him in Washington/Congress.....
  4. NT, you are not along; I checked eBenefits and it show I was to be scheduled for a QTC exam for C&P; no notice, call, or anything from QTC and they (VA) had a projected date of 29 May 2012 of getting the QTC exam results! Really? Just waiting to see how long it takes before they contact me as I'm patient. BTW, I would go to a VA or QTC appointment today if they notified me as I have experience a "denial" of a claim for allegedly "missing" a C&P appointment, but was able to get it reversed as I had actual written evidence from the VA that they would reschedule the C&P during my retirement transition to Georgia.

    Astounded

    Well deserved; congrats to you!
  6. Congratulations on your win!
  7. My prayer goes out to you for your loss and I hope you are getting the support and help you need to deal with your pain.
  8. Retired, this really touched me emotionally and brought tears to my eyes to read your post; I will keep you in prayer. As the others have said, hang in there and don't give up, my fellow Veteran. Dealing with the VA is mentally draining, I know from personal experience with handling my spouse claim (approved TDIU, P&T) and my own issues as a 20 plus year military retiree; I got very depressed after they approved my spouse TDIU because it had taken so much energy out of me. I pray you get a speedy, approved decision for your claims promptly!
  9. Congratulations to you all and that is a great movie of mine too!
  10. This is really a good news story; congratulations to you and the wife!
  11. Flip, it appears that some within the VA system may be trying to do the right thing by you, seeing that you have persevered unneccessarily for this long. I think it will be in your favor, fellow Vet!
  12. Congratulations Carlie and well deserve. As others have posted previously, you were taken through that bureaucratic VA maze with them (VA) hoping that you would get lost or give up on what they KNEW was rightfully your earned benefits. Take time to enjoy your success and relax for a while; blessing to you and your family!
  13. Congratulations LG! Just remember that saying "no" to a loan request is not a bad thing either since you can actually find something YOU need to do for you and your family with it.
  14. Good to see you get what you have earned; thanks for your service, too!
  15. Great news and congratulations.
  16. Well done Pete and congrats to you. The VA should re-look their procedures so another deserving Vet does not have to wait that long.
  17. AM2 4MAN, thanks for your service to the country. In my opinion, I believe if you have 3 ratings at 10%, your combined rating with be 30%. There is a calculator on the site to use to determine it. Maybe some other seasoned members will chime in as well.
  18. Congratulations to you. I'm surprised that they offered you a choice of paper check or direct deposit with the upcoming mandate on any new federal benefits within the next few years; interesting.
