I am trying to figure out how to get missing medical records for my injuries I sustained while on AD. There seems to be missing records from my SMR for January 1996-February 1996. I need to obtain records from Ft. Belvoir and Bethesda Naval Hospital. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank You Steph

The VA methology seems to be all about making someone else do the dirty work.. Take for instance the procedures for primary care.. Ok the primary doctor is the healthcare gate keeper.. Everything is supposed to go thru the primary doctor. you believe you have a major problem with your neck, report it to your primary and its thier decision to do further testing or refer you to a specialist or order tests such as Mri, X RAYS, Blood tests. ect.. From my personal experience and reports from a employee inside my VAMC I believe that data manipulation and denial of care to veterans has become an art form. Heres how things have unfolded in my personal experiences.. I go to my V…

I got a letter from the VA Hospital today dunning me and my insurance company for treatment of "drug abuse". I am treated by the VA for chronic pain and am in the Opiate Program. As a result the VA states that I am being treated for "drug abuse" and wants me to sign a form acknowledging this lie and wants to recover money from my insurance company. Of course, I am not signing a thing. I am outraged that the VA would twist my treatment records to come up with a DX of drug abuse because I am treated for chronic pain which is service connected for my feet and hands, at least. I called the VA hospital and someone in billing told me that the only thing I was SC for was "d…

OK I finally got the MRI I had been begging for going on 3 years. I later get a letter from my dr stating no additional action needed and the results of the MRI were interpreted as contradictory to what 3 previous doctors had reported. I messaged my primary and requested to speak with the Radiologist who actually read the MRI. A phone number was provided via my health e vet and I called the doctors office and was transfered to the actual doctor whom read the MRI, or indicated that he read the MRI. I told the dr I wanted to discuss the findings he had concluded abt MY Mri. I was immediately told that he could NOT discuss MY Mri results with me, due to HIPPA laws. This d…

well finally after 3 years of beggng my VAMC in temple texas for an MRI on my spine, today is the big day. Keep in mind they didnt offer it out of the goodness of thier hearts, I had to threaten 1151 and tort actions against them. Once I get ALL of my stuff taken care of im thinking of writing a book on my lifelong experiences with the VA. I may name the book,,, " For Those who have Borne the Battle.. TWICE"!!!! once in combat and once in the VA system. Hopefully I can get an accurate MRI out of them, and send it off to a real hospital, and they can tell me what can be done. Prayers greatfully accepted and encouraged.. --- Sierra

"A new poll from Concerned Veterans for America shows strong support for health care options outside of Veterans Affairs Department facilities, despite a new announcement from VA officials about plans to cut back on those programs. About 88 percent of respondents to the poll — part of a larger health care survey from the conservative veterans' advocacy group — said officials need to increase health care choices for VA patients, including access to private care physicians. About 95 percent said veterans should be entitled to the best care possible, regardless of the provider." http://www.militarytimes.com/story/military/benefits/veterans/2015/02/03/veterans-health-car…
