I have a fairly simple question for the complex topic of special monthly compensation. If you have a 100% and a 60% or a second group of multiple awards that equals 60% or great, do you qualify for k award? All of this said, this would be without being housebound or in need of A&A. Only due to the schedular ratings and no other factors of limitation or assistance needed.

I have to use a walker when not using the mobility scooter.I am SC for heart and copd and well as cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. I am now more confused than I was before. I was awarded A&A which I guess from reading several posts here is a L award I have 2 100% awards one of which is why the A&A was needed and a 60%. I have a K award which should have been higher as I am blind in …

I'm disabled Vet receiving SMC w/spouse. What do they mean when the chart says "Veteran with One Parent" or "Veteran with Two Parents"?? In order to receive compesation for the Veterans Parent/s, does this mean that the parents have to be living with me? Thank You....

If your spouse is the person assigned as your Aid and Attendance care taker, can she be employed at a separate job part of the time too? Does housebound pay for a caretaker? What exactly is housebound pay? I guess I am reclinerbound or not bedridden but recliner-ridden. I have slept in my recliner for some time now. Due to being on oxygen and having everything centrally located that I need, meds, etc.

When the spouse of a veteran (lets say- the vet is 100% TDIU from the Gulf War and she also receives SSA) and lets say the husband of this vet is rated as NSC but with total and permanent disability- as I understand it this spouse of a vet - let's say the husband in this case-would be eligible for A & A or Housebound..... both, in essense, are SMC awards---- then the spousal AA and or HB vet is NOT a service connected vet, they are simply a vet's dependent receiving VA comp---- did I get that right? Is the spousal A& A or HB amount simply added to the SC vets dependency award? Or -if not incompetent-does the NSC A & A spouse get the VA com…

Hi All, Well I got a letter in the mail today and this is what it read: We have received a preliminary decision from the VA agreeing with our argument that service connection should be established for your hysterectomy, low back strain, left knee, headaches, depression, fractured right fifth toe and hypertension. A combined 70 percent disability evalustion is being assigned, with further entiltlement to Specail Monthly Compensation due to loss of use of a creative organ, effective from March 28, 2005. I was just wondering if anyone knew what it means by the Special monthly compensation due to loss of use of a creative organ. Thanks Ashley
