From the SSA pamphlet on Representative Payees "Your payee receives your monthly benefits and must use the money to pay for your current needs...Your payee must also report regularly to Social Security"
"If you do not agree that you need a payee...write to Social Security within 60 days to appeal that decision."

I was worried cause I saw somewhere that if you got the questionnaire that meant they were following you with a Private Eye. PTSD paranoia strikes again.
I received a big package from Social Security today. It's titled Social Security disability determination. Anyone have advice/experience on filling this out. It's making me paranoid is this normal?
Psychiatrists in my experience just diagnose and give meds. Social Workers, Psychologists, and Counselors listen more. I reccomend you hang out at hadit.com for a while before filing. Get well and good luck.
I downplayed PTSD as well. I opened up over time. What I was honest about was not wanting to be a lazy loser getting government money. You are not alone in this.. .one thing make sure you feel comfortable talking to your therapist.
Excellent info. The one thing I wish I could find were the actual percentages of reductions and terminations but this thread is what I've been looking for for a long time
Most employees at the VA are pro-veteran and are very aware that what they write effects service-connection. Be careful about trying to manipulate VA employees into writing what you want in the records though they deal with this all the time and I'm sure they can spot people trying to manipulate them.
The VA provides compensation and care to children of Vietnam vets exposed to Agent Orange if born with Spina Bifida or "certain" other conditions. The other conditions I haven't been able to find out
