  1. Budget just passed it includes advanced funding for VA, so future govt shutdowns will not effect VA funding.
  2. I have done my part, turned in the VA decision and my C and P exam. Thanks for the boost and it's wait and see time again.
  3. If his rating decision was three months ago I can't imagine they would downgrade him with new evidence. But who knows....
  4. Hmmm by its very nature chronic adjustment disorder is PTSD. I realize the DSM criteria may differ slightly, but something seems a little odd here. Have you looked at healthgrades to see what the docs ratings are? I'm not judging the Doc maybex this is they're sincere diagnosis but some docs may "steer a diagnosis" out of a sense that veterans are over compensated or some other issue like "cynical burn out". Just saying.....
  5. Oh and it was hadits podcast that got me looking into this, thanks Bob Walsh.
  6. After doing some research I expect a denial for SSDI. The reason bbeing I did not filecmy claimm electronically. It appears that applications filed in person like mine end up with insufficient medical records. Even though you sign a release the records somehow don't end up with SSA , I don't know if this is VA,s fault or Social Security's fault. I turned in my VA decision and will. Turn in my C and P results but they asked me not to turn in medical records since they'll get them for me. MORAL OF THE STORY FILE YOUR SSDI APPLICATION ONLINE SO YOU know what's in your file.
  7. Looks like the examiner deemed you at 100%, the only thing I saw that might not meet the 100% criteria was the panic attacks less than once a week.
  8. Good news and well deserved.
  9. Try to visit your friend in the hospital if you can, I've been in the Psyc Ward multiple times and visits from friends and family make a big difference.
  10. I'm scared of asking the VA for my C-File , afraid they'll get mad at me.
  11. Since I did an in person application I went down and turned it in, if you did an online application you can scan it in.
  12. Went to the Social Security office today and turned in my VA decision letter.
  13. One suggestion would be finding a medical study linking your headaches/migraines to military service. It would take a lot of research. I would start with Google Scholar as a search engine. You need to find peer-reviewed medical research supporting your claim.
  14. I filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against my former employer over the way I was treated due to my PTSD. I just won a small amount of money and the company agreed to do further training on how to treat employees with disabilities. I won't post again on this thread because I have to sign a confidentiality agreement, but before I sign I want to share the good news. Merry Christmas!
  15. If anyone has been through one of these SSDI mental exams before please tell me what it was like.
  16. I'm trying to decide right now if I can overcome this. It's tough if I push myself to go back to work get reduced to 30% and then get fired where does that leave me? I'm not stupid but my social worker has finally got me to admit my condition is permanent. I am frustrated that I can't go through some program and be healed.
  17. Very good succinct letter in my opinion. Hope it works out for you.
  18. At my VAMC they had a class on PTSD and said only 20% of people with PTSD never show improvement. People have gotten P and T on PTSD alone but the VA views it as a treatable (but permanent) condition.
  19. I'm just tired of all these exams and tests, but I understand they're necessary.
  20. There is plenty to cut in the federal budget before getting to veterans, but that doesn't mean they won't do it.
  21. Could you request a new C and P? Never heard of someone asking for a C and P but maybe in your case it would help.
